  • If I can run a 39.00 300m FAT, what do you think my 200m time will be?

I have run consistent sub-40 second 300m, and my 55m FAT is a 7.12. Just wondering.

    SAT M:670

    SAT Wr:660

  • Track meet tomorrow, ice bath?

I have a track meet tomorrow and will be running 300m and 4x400. I did a hard workout Monday and my legs were very sore today while running. I was considering taking an ice bath. Has anyone done this, and do you think it will help?

  • swollen hamstring, but no pain?

So on tuesday I pulled/strained my hamstring. I took a day off from running (im a sprinter) and then worked my way back into running. I have a meet on monday, so i have been stretching and icing my hamstrings a lot. This morning, i found that the uninjured hamstring was really swollen/big, right above my knee. Could this be from stretching/icing my hamstring too much? I have no pain, and the other injured leg is not swollen like this.

  • Weight Lifting for Speed?

Winter track is starting at the end of November, and I need to get back into shape. I had a stress fracture in my spine, and was unable to train for a few months. I feel as if I am still pretty fast, but I dont feel I am on the same level i used to be. I run the 55m dash and I used to be quite good, and I do not want to lose my varsity spot. I have been looking around and have heard a lot about olympic lifts. I was wondering A) what exactly those are and a good schedule for doing them, and B) should i lift throughout the season, or would it hurt my times?

  • Sprint training advice?

So next year I am going to be a Junior. My freshman year, for track, i ran the 100 meters in 13.5 seconds on average. Somehow, i managed to get it down to an 11.5 this year, but this still isnt enough for states :'(. From running, i got a stress fracture in my spine and am out of sports until about august. At this time, I am hoping to start training for sprinting, but i am completely clueless! I weigh about 135 lbs, 5'9.

Does anyone have any workouts that combine weight training and running excersizes to get this time down?

    Also, 2 minor questions

1:what do you think about creatine/whey protein

2: My brace for my spine is like a corset, and i am beginning to breathe through my chest opposed to my stomach, would this affect my running if it stays like this?

  • flats for indoor sprints?

for track, i run the 300 and 55, and some tracks do not allow spikes to be used, and the shoes i have now for sprints have a plate that makes them slippery on the floor. Should i try cross country flats?

  • What should I try to increase my vertical leap?

Im a sophmore in highschool, and i run track in the winter and spring. I do the triple and high jump events, and i want to get better at jumping. I am about 5,8 or so and can just barely touch the rim on a basketball hoop. I have looked at strength shoes, jumpsoles, and the vertical jump bible and i am unsure of which to buy. I am leaning more towards the jumpsoles, but I am unsure of whether or not it will actually help.
