External drive some time show up some time not?
Strange problem. I bought an external hard drive for backup last month. When I connected my external drive, it did show up. However, when I work for sometime, I found the light of the external drive turned off by itself, then it did not show up any more. I then disconnected it and plugged it to my laptop again, the light was on again and it showed up again! What was happening?????

I am planning a reading group for non-fiction (history, economic, philosophy etc.). But hard questions always stop me: How do we know that we have a correction understanding of the book if no expert around? Will our discussion still be worthy, and in what way?

1 AnswerMovies7 years agothe nature of phylogenetic branching?
In evolution, we all know that it is not a linear path such as:
single cell -> fish -> reptile -> monkey -> human
It is rather a kind of branching tree of life to show common ancestor such as A evolved B and C, then B evolved D and E etc..
However, this kind of tree of life is still nothing more than a multiple linear process, we can still identify a single path from the tree, e.g. A -> B -> D or A -> B ->E in the above example.
So, my question is what exactly the difference between evolutionary tree of life and linear path BY THEIR VERY NATURES?
Thanks
1 AnswerBiology8 years agoDNA testing and human evolution?
Did/can scientists test the DNA of human bones and skull.
If not, how can they so sure that one is the ancestor of the other by simply measuring the physical appearance and dating?
is it just a matter of interpretation by placing the skulls in chronicle order? For example placing A, B and C in such chronicle order and interpret that A evolved B and C simply because they have something in common and something different?
Thanks.

1 AnswerOther - Education9 years agoIs Karl Barth a Neo-orthodox theologian?
Evangelical Churches today always understand Karl Barth as a neo-orthodox theologian.
However, if I remember correctly, he himself reject this term. My questions are:
1. Did Barth formally separate himself from Neo-orthodox?
2. For what reason(s) did he reject ne-orthodox?

2 AnswersGoogle9 years agoYahoo email problem with old and new accounts?
I have just created my second yahoo email account. However it is so strange:
When I use my old email account to communicate, sometime the reply button is locked and I am not able to send message. Then when I logout and login again, I am able to send message.
Then, when I logout and login again, I am not able to send message again.
So, I have to login and logout several times in order to make my old email account work for normal communication.
I am quite tired with that I really want to delete the new account and use the old account normally again.
1. What might be the cause of this strange thing?
2. How can I delete the new account and keep the old one?
Thanks!
