  • House pricing help please?

If someone builds a really expensive house in an area, will it boost the value of the area? i.e. if in an area with houses worth £1m someone builds a house worth £5m will it make the others worth more?

  • Ideas for quick car with cheap insurance?

I'm 21 and looking to get a new car that's both fast and cheapish to insure. I have 2 years NCB, with a clean license and I've never crashed. I have looked at some hot hatches and fast saloons. I was surprised to find that insurance for a Golf GTi was more than for a C32 AMG, a 180mph car with 150bhp more! I'm tempted by the AMG, but servicing might suck my wallet dry... Are there any other options?

  • The Pre budget report doesn't make sense, does it?

Sure, the chancellor is cutting VAT by 2.5%, great; but the thing that really defeats me is that he then makes up for it by taxing the super rich - the people who could afford to move abroad, and I think a 45% tax on income is as good an incentive as any...

What is your opinion on the government's plans?
