Which color for someone like me? Suit?
I have to pick a suit for my school ball. My options are black pinstripe and grey pinstripe. I'm 5'2 and it's a problem for me because I'm not sure which color would look good on me. I have also been thinking charcoal or navy. Any suggestion?
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories7 years agoDo you always agree with...?
Do you always agree with most people even if the things that they teach are good and street wise? For example Iain Abernethy is know for his practical kata bunkai, but is there some of the things that you don't agree with?
6 AnswersMartial Arts7 years agoThe "old school karate guard"?
Have anyone ever seen this type of Kamae before? In my research, I've found that most old school karate master used this type of Kamae eg. Motobu Choki and Chibana Choshin. It look a lot like bare knuckle boxing guard. I've found it to be very difference than what most modern Karate schools do today. Here are some pictures

5 AnswersMartial Arts8 years agoCan you answer a few questions if you are Buddhist?
1. If someone doesn't believe in certain things or doesn't go to temple and pray, but still follow the teaching of Buddha. Would he still consider a Buddhist?
2. Buddha taught us to love each other, but why is people from Lao, Cambodian and Burmese are looked down upon in Thailand? Even my dad is racist towards Indians. Consider the percentage of Buddhist in Thailand is about 95%.
I've been a Buddhist most of my life and I'm beginning to question it. I like the teaching of Buddha, but the way I see people makes me really think about it. I might sounds naive I know.
Sorry for my English, I'm Thai.
4 AnswersYahoo Answers8 years agoKata to bunkai or bunkai to kata?
What do you teach first or what do you think should come first? Most people think that you should get the kata right first. Some will say you should get the combat first.
Also this is my first time teaching the whole class, do you have any advice about how I should teach bunkai and kata? Do you mix kids and adult group together when doing the bunkai or do you separate them?

2 AnswersMartial Arts8 years agoWhat is the "original Buddhism"?
My family is a Theravada buddhism so I was raised as one. Now that I'm older, I'm beginning to wonder what is the real Buddhism? If I'm correct but I'm not sure, Buddha taught us not to worship anybody even him but still there is people in Thailand that worship people. When I was in Thailand, my family wants me to worship a statue of Pra Naresuan but I refused, then my uncle ask me "Don't you want success in life?". That kinda got me wonder ever since if this is the way of letting go of suffering. I mean, if you want success in life shouldn't it starts with making yourself better not worshiping someone?

7 AnswersMartial Arts8 years agoShould Wing chun or other style of kung fu be in my bucket list?
There's a wing chun club in my town. I'm wondering if I should give it a try. I've read somewhere that a very good kata bunkai would look a lot like wing chun. What do you think? Should I give it a try?
If you can't give me a proper answer, I will report you.

2 AnswersMartial Arts8 years agoA student who doesn't try his hardest? What would you do?
What do you do with students that always practice techniques with lack of focus and controls? It likes he doesn't take any serious in his training but still turn up.
There is a guy at my Dojo who is a 7kyu (I'm guessing) who always practice his techniques without controls, focus and power (As my sensei would say, flobby techniques) but he still turn up to class. He has been with us for many years. I sometime would just not correct him when he did a wrong technique because in the end, he never try his hardest to getting better.
Do you have a student like this? And what do you do about it?
Sorry for my English

How should the Oi-tsuki be use in a fight? Grab the opponent and pull him towards you then punch him? Or could it be something else? I sometime imagined that the Oi-Tsuki could be something like a take down.
