entry level health care field options?
I am currently in community college doing my prerequisites to apply to nursing programs. It is super competitive so I am looking to gain experience by becoming either a CNA, EMT, or phlebotomist before applying to nursing schools. I am open to other options but I was wondering what is the best as far as salary and job prospects after certification as well as how well does it look on nursing applications? And how enjoyable is the job overall or how overwhelming is it? As well as whats the normal hours? Any personal experience or tips for nursing or health care would be appreciated.
3 AnswersHealth Care1 month agoHow to get rid of post nasal drip ?
I ride horses and have horrible allergies all year just from being outside and probably breathing in allergens and hay particles. The post nasal drip and cough are persistent. I use a humidifier all night, take Zyrtec before bed and Flonase. I try to sleep sitting up and right now I have to have multiple Cough drops to stop coughing while sitting in bed. I even started using a nettipot. My eyes get crusty and goopy too and it can be really hard to sleep at night. I’ve already been to the doctor twice and they just tell me to take the Zyrtec and Flonase. I don’t want to give up riding, is there anything I can do? This has gone on for most of the last two years.
1 AnswerRespiratory Diseases4 months agoHow can you help your horse become more willing and have a stronger work ethic?
I have a welsh cob who is extremely lazy and unwilling once anything becomes difficult. She has beautiful movement and my trainer wants to get her up through 4th level dressage (eventually). The problem is she is very dominant and stubborn. We are making progress but very slowly. I was just wondering what I could do to help her have a better attitude. She was a brood made up until last year because she was a little crazy and no one wanted to deal with her. As soon as you ask her to do something under saddle that requires more effort even nicely such as canter or go forward it’s met with a buck, kicking out, stomping in place. She got her teeth done two days ago, her saddle fits, she gets massages she’s never been lame or gotten any injury. She is the type of horse to take advantage of people at any chance. Is she just taking advantage of me? I try to push through the tantrums but I don’t want every ride to be like that. It seems like because she is lazy she makes work even harder on herself. I just want advice from people on how to get a stubborn/lazy horse more willing and have a stronger work ethic
6 AnswersHorses4 months agoWhat color is my horse? ?
This was her summer color. My trainer thinks she is a liver chestnut but she has a black mane and tail. She is usually the color of chocolate. I have more pictures on my insta and tik took @britneyneventing to get a better idea since I can only post this one picture. I was just wondering about what you guys think her color would be since most of the year she is a red chocolate color
3 AnswersHorses6 months agoWhat to grain to feed my horse for energy? ?
My horse is a 10 year old 14.3 chestnut mare welsh cob. We do eventing together. I ride her about 4-6 days a week. She tends to be very lazy and I am trying to figure out what feed to give her to help w energy. I feed her ultium gastric care for grain and an advanced joint supplement. She struggles with going forward and is constantly irritated especially in the summer when it’s hot and it’s seems to be due to lack of energy. I’ve already done everything else like getting her massages and her saddle fits great. It just seems like she needs a higher energy diet so I was just wondering what to feed her.
5 AnswersHorses6 months agoWhats the easiest nursing programs to get into?
I know all nursing programs are difficult. I am currently taking my prerequisites right now. By the end of them I should be sitting around a 3.5. I live in California but am open to moving out of state. My main goal is to get in the first year I apply. My boyfriend is also doing nursing and has a 3.6 after prerequisites. Even though it’s highly unlikely we wanted to both go to the same school together for nursing. Because of wanting to get in as soon as possible and wanting to attend a school with my boyfriend I was wondering if any school would give me a higher chance of doing both? I’m open to any feed back that would help increase my chances. The program it’s self can be hard Im not afraid of hard work. Also I have a b in anatomy should I retake for a better grade or leave it?
2 AnswersHealth Care1 year agoCan you partially dislocate your shoulder? ?
I woke up this morning with lots of pain in my upper left shoulder. It didn’t hurt to specifically touch anywhere. It’s not a shooting pain but more like extremely terrible growing pains. It hurt so much I couldn’t focus. I kept trying to stretch my shoulder back since I thought maybe I slept on it wrong since I sleep on my sides. Then I heard a large pop from the inside of my shoulder and since then almost all my pain is gone. It only hurts a little bit now. I could move my arm so I don’t think it’s dislocated. Is it possible to partially dislocate or could it be something else?
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 year agoBest bird breed?
So I currently have a cocktail and have owned a conure in the past. I am looking into getting a new bird but I am still a little unsure about a specific breed to get. I am leaning towards getting a blue crowned conure or an Indian or African ringneck. I am open to any bird of a proximitly the same size. As far as temperament I need a bird that's fine with petting and cuddles and won't freak out over being touched and I need a bird that is less prone to biting. I already have a cage and that's why I said the size of the bird I need. My cage is 30in×18in×36in. I am currently housing my cocktail in it until I get the new bird. (Cocktails cage is sitting on top)
2 AnswersBirds6 years agoSchooling show question?
So im going to my first schooling show tomorrow and the dress code is just the normal polo shirt and stuff but i was wondering if you guys thought it would be ok that my polo was long sleeved and my breehes were grey and not the notmal tan ones. I am just doing english flat classes if that helps. I just wasnt sure if it would be weird to wear grey breeches to a show or if it was even allowed?
2 AnswersHorses6 years agoshould i get a horse that isn't saddle broke?
ive only been consistently riding for about 2 years. i rode 8 months western and then decided that i wanted to learn to jump so i switched to english. i'm 15 and my parents are ok with getting me a horse. the thing is that they are reluctant to pay more than $2,000 for a horse. most horses in that price range are either western or green broke. they will pay for my trainer to work with the horse 5 days a week. i can pay vet bills and any other bills because i have a job on the weekends.i have the time and the barn where i ride is only 5 min. from my dads work so i have a ride there and my mom works from home. i was looking at a five year old american warmblood who is halter broke. im a confident rider and my mom and dad have owned horses before (my dad owned racehorses and my mom had western horses but this was before i was born). i have leased and i feel ready for a horse. im worried that even with all this help i wont be able to handle a unbroke horse. if you can give me advice or personal experiences i will be greatful.

18 AnswersHorses8 years agoHow do you get started raising a sheep for a 4-h program?
Well I could possibly be moving into a new house and if we do my parents said it would be ok for me to get 1-4 sheep. We would be living on a 1/2 or 1 acre property ( sorry the land is pretty big but I'm not exactly sure how big exactly) and I was wondering how you would get started in a 4-h program. Also how long do you care for the sheep? Is there any money in selling the sheep for auction? And is there any money in showing? what's the best type of sheep and what is the general cost of a sheep for everything per sheep?and on average how much profit do you make on each sheep? Thx any other details would be great!
