Just as the question asks, is it worth it? And what is the cost?

I have a 1200 sq ft ranch house with a basement.. Blown in insulation 10" thick in the attic along with new roof 2 years ago.. This last month with the high propane costs I got a $875 bill, and now im searching for answers.. Today I replaced the old nasty rotted insulation in the upper basement walls (above the foundation and below the sub floor) with r-21 rolled up fiberlass insulation.. I got to one part and realized that the insulation coming down through the walls was r-11, and probably as nasty and rotted as the old stuff above the foundation..

Can they blow it in with old insulation still in there? Would they just remove it? Is it all worth it? What will my cost be do you think? Standard 8' tall walls, 1200 sq feet home.. Original single bedroom part was built in the early 1900s and a much larger part was added on in 72, dont know what the original part has or if it was updated with the r-11 with the rest of it.

I was looking into buying new snowmobiles and they are $5k cheaper.. something is fishy here.. anyone ever actually order something from there or is it a credit stealing website?

For the most part, its driven in ideal conditions for mpg (55 mph speed zones) and ive yet to see close to the claimed combined fuel economy estimate given for it..

I come from the diesel world as far as what i know performance wise, so i dont want to go touching this thing with my diesel ideas and end up hurting it.. Lets face it, they are 100% different animals..

I replaced the air filter with a K&N, figured that would do nothing but help, and since its washable save money in the long run.. Does anyone have a aftermarket cold air intake for them? Ive searched, with no results.. Does anyone do air box mods? With pvc toilet drain fittings and making a open port for air to get sucked in the bottom of the box?

Would changing the thermostat help? (it does in a diesel) right now coolant sits at 193-194 leading me to believe it has a 190* thermostat, so should I switch to a 200*? Or is that bad news?

Does the stability control off button do anything, really? when I switch it, the instant mpg shows about 3 mpg better, which made me wonder if maybe it disengages the AWD, but i know darn well those instant calculators cant be trusted.. When I do that, it shows me about 22.5 mpg, otherwise, its about 19.5 mpg

Ive seen SOME that the Pentastar does not like the cold weather, and given Im in Michigan and it hasnt been over 60* since Ive owned it, but come on.. Is it really that big of a problem?

Any help would be much appreciated..

I am thinking about trying to make a custom liqour dispenser, similar to the Jager machines they sell for $300.. My idea is to use a mini fridge and make a custom tray that holds them upside down inside the refridgerator, with tubes leading to each one and connecting together to have one tap out the side.. That way the bottles stay cold the entire time.. My problem is i cant figure out how to have the bottles constantly upside down and still get air into them without leaking.. If i make a T in the line that goes higher then the bottles would that work as a breather? or wouldnt it suck air? Id love to hear some ideas..

I already thought about using a liquor pourer, but they leak once the flow out the tip stops.

My girlfriend and I are getting married (in Michigan, if it matters) next year. Her brother is ordained by the state to marry people, and would like to marry us. Is it legal for him to do so? We have heard both sides of it saying he can or he cant, I would just like someone that knows on the subject to answer, and provide the reason why not (if not).. Thank you.

I just had my bathroom remodeled, and got a corner tub with jets installed professionally.. They still havent came back to do the final work like install the ceiling vent fan and light switch covers, trim, etc.. But they said my tub should be ready to be used.. so i filled it up, got in, pushed the button, and, nothing... I got out and started checking things over, its got a 2' cord to a plastic covered junction box, and that runs to a GFCI and its plugged in.. I hit the reset and it does nothing, hit the test and it doesnt click.. Not sure what the problem is.. Is there a wire they missed? It seems as if there is a spot on the top of the motor to screw a ground in? Maybe they missed that? I cant get the electrician to answer this late at night and id like to not waste the hot water.. If i need to get the model numbers or anything off the pump let me know

Our 14 month old boy is facing his first real sickness (thankfully its been this long!) He has a little fever for 3 days or so and has been bouncing from 99-99.8 (usually 98.2 range) and his highest point, just now, was 101.5 after we went out and had him bundled up.. Ive read that common fever temps for his age are 100-103, so im not very worried about a serious illness, after all, he just has a runny nose and a slight loss of appetite, nothing else we have found.. He only wants his mom right now though, and will sit and cry until she holds him. I can sometimes, but he wont play with me or anything. With her, he will play, eat small amounts, and is still drinking his usual 5 to 6 ounces of water, gatorade, or milk every 3 hours.. He is sleeping his usual hours as well..

The issue is, we are taking a 6 hour trip north for vacation tomorrow, leaving around noon. We arent sure whether to worry about him or not. Not so much worried about the ride, but the fact we will be gone for 6 days in a area 45 minutes from the nearest hospital.. We will have all the comforts of home, staying with family and not in a hotel, but there is still reason for us to worry.. Should we worry? or do you think he will be fine? Do we try to get him into a doctor before we leave?

I have a bulb out on my 03 grand am. Its the right side outer blinker light.. Im not sure if this is called the blinker/ marker light bulb or the directional marker bulb.. There are 2 lights on each set (left and right) and im not sure the proper name of them to buy the correct one.. Any help is appreciated..

Just as the question asks, why does this happen? Hes 10 months old, Im his dad, ive been there since day one, give him lots of attention, and lately, just the last month or so, he cries when i get close to him, or touch him, or try to play with him, but only when his mom is around.. I can babysit him all day on the days she works and I dont and its fine the entire time, almost as if there is nothing wrong at all, but as soon as she gets home he acts like he hates me completely!

Then she'll go to take a shower or something, he's fine again.. so i really dont understand it! Its a little bit frustrating, and im not sure what to do. Ive tried everything, and I know they can sense when you are unhappy or mad, and it doesnt help one bit when i act happy or try to play with him.

Im never mean to him or yell, so thats not it.. We (his mom and i) never fight.. So he doesnt think im a meany.. So what is it? Is it really that hes that attached to mom and doesnt want anyone but her when shes there? Ive never heard of it being this bad..

I have a 9 month old son, who has always LOVED his bottle, to a obsessive level. Right now he gets a 8 oz bottle in morning and night, and 3-6 oz bottles during the day along with stage 2 food. The question I ask is, why is he so crazy for the bottle? He is always mad when the bottle is done, and we try to burp him, and gets REALLY mad during the 8 oz bottle when we burp him half way through (he has always had issues with sucking air with the bottle, so we still burp him at 4 oz during the 8 oz bottle)

He just gets so crazy about it, and I want to know why! We have to hide it from him while preparing it, and hide it when he burps, and when hes done.. There are times that hes just fine when we take it away, but others when he isnt, and NEVER when he has to burp.

Also, he refuses to drink anything but formula. We try Gerber "sitters" juice all the time, both straight and diluted with water, but wont take it, or straight water, out of either a sippy cup or bottle. I think he gets more mad then anything when its not formula in the bottle.

Hes a healthy baby, but this behavior drives me nuts.. Hes done it basically since birth (after he was off breast milk (1.5 months)) And i cant find anything searching online that is like this, unless its for a 4 month old! I would have thought he would be over this by now. He knows hes going to get it!

Just recently the day after i drink alcohol my stomach hurts, and im curious as to why.. Im 22, and its only been happening for the last 6 months or so.. It never used to, after i turned 21 and before i was of age this was never a problem. Anyone know why this happens? I DO drink beer more often then i used to, I used to drink more liquor, but i dont drink any more frequently.. Only about once every other week,, Does anyone know why? Or what i can do?

8-9, wake up, 6 oz bottle (2 scoops)

one hour nap

11- (at daycare) 5 oz bottle(2 scoops), one container fruit or veg

half hour nap

3- (at daycare) 5 oz bottle(2 scoops), one container fruit or veg

half hour nap

6- 5 oz bottle(2 scoops), one container fruit or veg

nap from 7:30-8:30

9- 7 oz bottle (3 scoops)

9:30 bath

10 bed time

should he be getting any oatmeal or cereal during the day, or at night? also, we'd like him to get to bed earlier but still sleep throughout the night.. i dont know if thats possible because he already sleeps 10-11 hours a night anyway, but itd be nice..any ideas would be great..

For the last 2 days I've had a bit of a problem with my anus itching.. It's inflamed a little bit on the right side as well. Not bleeding, and no worm evidence.. I tried anti itch cream, didn't work, and then I found later that i shouldn't have according to research. I've looked all over online and haven't really found a whole lot of matching symptoms other then warts or fungus.. I'm embarrassed to go to the doctor, and I'd rather try any suggested at home remedies.. Thanks for any help.. No immature answers please..

I have a 2007 Honda CBR rr i just bought and it came with a slip on exhaust.. i dont believe there is a aftermarket air filter but i havent opened the box to find out.. right now i can only get about 120 miles on a tank, which is about 3.5 gallons.. ive heard average cbr's get 40-45 mpg and im not quite getting that, and seeing that its the biggest reason i bought a bike id like to be getting as good as i can.. also i dont know if the gears have been changed either.. im open to the idea of a power commander and a high flow air filter, and any other suggestions.. im a casual rider, not so much worried about hp as i am mpg.. it has plenty of power right now, i dont necessarily need more, but id hate to lose any also.. let me know what you all think.. thanks!

I have a Alpine mrp m450 amp (400 rms) and Im about to buy 2 JL Audio w0 12's in a 15"x15"x 30" box.. from every review ive read, the JL's can handle all the amp that i can give it, so the question is, where do i set the low pass filter on the amp? i dont have a multimeter or any fancy sound measuring tools, so i need to just go off what the amp says.. obviously i want to do what sounds the best.. thanks guys.

I currently have a good start with a alpine amp that puts out 400 rms (i believe the model was 450) but i have it hooked to a 2000 watt audiopipe slim mount 12 in a truck box (so im almost positive it doesnt have the needed airspace) and it sort of sounds blown.. nothing happens when i push the cone, so im not certain. So i guess my question is where do i go from here? do you think the box is my problem or should i just go with a entirely new set up? ive been checking ebay and craigslist for good deals and so far the only thing ive found is a mtx 4500, but cant find the rms on it so im not going to buy it...

also a few added details, im working on a budget (not willing to pay more then $200)... im using this in the trunk of my car... i only want one speaker to save a little trunk space, doesnt matter if its 10, 12, 15.. but i want the best i can get out of my amp with a one speaker combo..

My girlfriend has a child. She left the biological father before she knew she was pregnant and does not want him in the childs life. Apparently he had a baby previously, and while she was with him saw him throw something at the crib, it broke into pieces and he laughed about it. He was drunk, and had no clue if the baby was in the crib or not.. He is a alcoholic, and has a history of violence. He his her birth control and forced her to have sex with him, it only happened once, and she broke up with him, but that is why she has a baby now.. I don't want to hear all the bullshit about the baby needing a real father because that is fully what I plan on being for him, and the "sperm donor" doesn't deserve to have a child, nor would it be safe around him.. His name is not on the birth certificate and she doesn't want to tell the court who it is. They want to take her assistance because of this and she actually needs it. She makes about 900 dollars per month and has her own apartment because her family is all deceased.

The question is how can she keep the assistance without giving the name of the father? Because her biggest fear is for him to know, and get any sort of visitation and put her child in danger.. After all, with his other child he had a visitation with she saw the other child clearly in danger.. What mother would want her child in that? Any advice will help. Thanks
