Couple of friendly lads at Gamerwiser.com gave me an opportunity to try to speak up and review games. Has well has I still consider myself a miserable failure in the domain this is what I'm trying to change. I'm looking for meaningful games that may has left a trace in how we see modern games so that I can sharpen my speech in the domain. Without of course going in the games people hate, mainly because i don't want to seem like another idiot bashing on EA for reasons he doesn't understand.

What are your suggestions?

Of course i'm not talking about all of them, there are a good lot of exception, what i mean by manly is a dependable protagonistthat, even if he has a dark past, doest not have the feel to monologue about it for houres.

And what i mean by "key" games are games that are immediately reffered to by non-gamers has a stereotype.

Good manly characters examples: Nathan Drake (Uncharted), the protagonist from Prince of Persia, Ezio Alditore (Assassin's Creed) perhaps we could also mention Max Payne from his first 2 games (3rd one seems like he lost a lot of dependability and goes for straight forward badies go bang-bang, shoot them in the face - NOW!)

Bad Examples: Duke Nukem, whoever the hell is in the more recent Call of Duty, Cloud Strafe (Final Fantasy 7), Tidus (FF 12)

But the key games general public reffers to are not what you really have in mind has manly anymore... why?

I'll make it clear: By "Manly" I do not mean "Douche", like Duke Nukem is, he's not the man we're proud of, his motives aren't the things you'd look up to, he wants to save the world because aliens stole their women... stole. their. women. Has ar has I know they could be butt raping men and he wouldn't give a **** has long has he's not targeted.

By manly, I don'T mean the overcompensating low intelect with muscles, by "Manly" I'm talking about the people you'd look up to and be proud to say "I wish I was him" for the good reasons, they guy that makes you think, like Chell from Portal, sure she's a girl, but she's got that one element that we all love, she doesn't enjoy her position. She it held captive and she is not fighting for the sex, she's fighting for her freedom, her personal freedom.

However, new games tend to take that caracteristic and think that there is no limits, that the sadest your protagonist seems, the better it is, look and call of duty or battlefield or any other popular FPS (For obvious reasons) They are all sad. Angry to be in their boots today, some of them ramble and monologue over and over again, speaking of how unlucky they are (Metroid and final fantasy, i'm look at you). Can't the industry aim for a right middle? If you involve the entire earth, the pressure is too big and your character have to be acting in concequence. Duke was saving the ENTIRE FEMALE POPULATION WITH A GRIN ON HIS FACE. meanwhile, Cloud isn't fighting for much besides revenge and slight saving the world aside, but he mainly want seph's blood for killing his girlfriend. That's one life allready lost and he's bitching about it throught the entire game.

You don't look up to any of these, you look up to people like Albedo (Terrible example, but think about it, he has a reason to be insane and you feel sorry for him once you think about it) or the prince of persia where he turns from a spoiled brat and ***** to... well, a manly character

I have a problem with certain sites or Steam where my keyboard would turn " ' " into " < " and " " " into " @ " and other certain issues of the sort. my keyboard is QWERTY if that can help.

I was listening to one of those vocaloid songs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCkByKskziw&feature... which for a while I was liking, its a beautiful story, though it is sad the first time i liscenend to it i shed a tear.

Then, I went to my history class (High school) and learned the place, and that it was tied to something else i knew, though it was just has unclear. The song was about a prisonier in a nazi execution camp (1949, World War II, the genocide of the Jewish)

Since then, Nazis are infinitely horrible, and this song makes me cry. everytime.

Why does learning 2 elements and then learning their bonds makes things worst/better so suddently?

I'm a huge PC gamer and my headset is frequently used, however i use many brands of headsets since mine allways break, allways the same problem, the left side allways stops working. Ist my 2nd pair to **** this year,

It sounds like a loose cable, but I can't seem to fix it, but it automaticly does when i bring it to my jaw.

Is there no way to fix this? Am I bound to have a backup at every houre of the day? I've taken good care of it has far has I can tell, no shock, no violence.

All my life I've adored videogames, I'm a gamer and I'm proud of it.

Recently, discussing with my other gaming friend, Some people overheard us and started joining in our conversation and I've quickly noticed how that fact we were "Gamers" made them laugh at us.

So, what? We have a hobby, its not that big of a deal, right?

Why? Why are we laughed and pointed at? Is it because of the minority of basement-dwelling hobgoblins stereotype? Can't we simply be recognized has our own community with our own sub-medias?

Here's what i think: Its a title to be feared. Has soon has I reveal that part of me in a social relation I am bound to be despised, no matter how I look, its like those 5 letters would be an arcane incatation to scare everyone away. So I try to live up to its name, show society what a real gamer is made of, but after I've beaten some sence into one person, there's nearly 3 billions left, so what the **** am I even trying?

Just wondering, after a chat with a friend on the internet i came across the interesting fact that, while lucifer killed about 10 people in the entire bible, god killed around 2.3 million people... and yet lucifer is the bad guy...

Why is it that when i swim at the surface, i have to keep myself from underwater, but when i actualy dive (without equipment, that is) I'm getting pulled to the surface?

I think i've had a memory leak suring the automatic defrag of my computer and it caused.. well.. alot of ****. Currently i'm on the computer in question, some of my files are corrupt, and i can't get on my main user, and its pissing me off. My friend suggested me to fetch my windows 7 disk back and to use the "Repair" function, to change the corrupted file over. Problem is, the computer was already formated when i bought it, and i don't believe I have the disk.

Suggestions?

Its not that i do that, its that i live that every day.

I'm a high schooler and I've started playing video games at a very very young age, fictionaly born with a mouse and keyboard in my hands, that got me plenty of time to affine my skills at every game i could sink my teeth into. Recently I asked a question why do people call hacks on me and my partners when I just outgun them? All the answers were the same: They like to kick out the good players and keep the noobs to pwn them, unfairly.

Being out of class I decided maybe i was like a college kid in kindergarden, so I take out to competitive play!... NOT! Those things happen is huge LAN parties in big cities, I live in the middle of nowhere in a place full of morons. And I have school, too. My parents never got out of a 50 km-wide radius around our hometown and they aren't gonna take me anywhere for one of these, plus there's no guarentee for me to win either: Affining my skills on douches, sore losers and kindergarden-screeming-peices-of-shits is not what i should be boasting out on.

But where does that behavior birth? I can't believe it would be there in the human mind forever, Imagine the shogun war's generals just calling out "YOU CHEATED *****************************!" out of their captivity cells in the enemy's temple... Yeah that would be damn hilarious but nontheless tragic.

Me and my new friend I've JUST met on Team Fortress 2 were reaping through everyone has a heavy + medic combo, I was the medic. Somehow, my friend was accused for cheating and banned out of the server. How is that cheating? All he had to do is keep his aim on the priority target and hold M1, meanwhile i was using him has cover and they couldn't deal enough damage to outheal me. so they all died. I was survival medic, pretty much at a competitive level and I assume so did he. Why do people blame hacks on the best just because they know how to play?

In my lifetime, even if i'm only 14 I've came across many time where someone would be needing help and i was in the best situation, some of those times might even have a life at stake, or at least injuries that could be avoided. Every time I'd help, every time i'd be considered a hero for ~10 minutes, and then I'd be forgotten. again. Even the one i potentially saved, or coped for his mistakes wouldn't remember me for more than a day.

On the other hand, once upon a time i was a pathetic swimmer, I had been pushed into the 21' deep in the school's pool, and guess what? I drank a ******* cup. more than one. How much time before someone notices i was drowning? The time i doggy-paddle my way back to the ******* edge! Then the lifesaver asks me if i'm okay right at the moment i puke out about half of what i had drank! Why in the holy **** was he working here if he can't notice someone drowning?

Moral of all that? Why should i bother helping someone if no one ever helps me?

My best friend, we're the same age and visibly almost the same.

Once you get to know both of us, you realised that one of us is much more mature, important, serious and intelligent than the other.

Not to boast, but the alpha one is me.

We're both into geek culture and heavily in the gaming branch but one thing i've never grasped is why are we so different? Let me break it out this way: He believes that if you can't program in ANY for of language, you are not "Someone" to him, if you take his place, in ANY case, like his seat in class, walk with ME instead of me walking with him; He's gonna try to **** your **** up. No lieing, he once got into a fist fight over a seat, and it was violent.

He's also lazy (He believes sports are a waste of time), gross (He brings raw bacon has a snack at school), Possessive over everything (Has i said, i am a thing and if i'm not walking besides him, he's gonna try to) and hummiliating to be around with (None of us are known very well, so when he gets ***** about something, i'm blamed aswell.) and neet (His parents give him everything he want, doesn't have a reason to live, plays videogames all day long)

I really wish he'd grow up, because if i just leave him, he'll have no friends and knowing him, he'd stalk me and randomly turn physicly hostile to me whenever i'd come near. (did i mention he has anger management issues too?) I'm not blaming him to be like me; I've had a pathetic childhood and had to be independent very quickly, but he blames people to be utterly stupid and he's worst.

I get that a lot since i've been in high school. Generalising a little bit, i think almost every classmates i've had so far in high school complains that i'm introvert, one even had the balls to try to make me an extrovert!

By pure guess, it seems about 90% of the society is extrovert. So i'll blindly staple that on the minority category.

TL;DR: Why does people feel bad/hate me/excludes me for being an introvert?

Introvert means someone that is rather quiet and generally doesn't have a lot of friends without necessairly being shy or agoraphobe. Meanwhile extroverts is... well, typically a teenager on facebook has a good example.

Note2: Agoraphobe is the fear of people.

In every game that is made to be played in team, there never is teamwork. Isn't it ******* obvious? TEAM fortress 2, that MUST be individualy played right? that's the mindset of alot of people recently.

How can i organise my team in any game, is there a little secret behind all of this or do i just have to pick and choose my teammates?

Me and my best friend by far are in love with the same girl. Its not that its ruining our friendship or anything, its just that its terribly tense now, even if she denied both of our offers to a relation, we still have this heavy rivalry.

I'm a nice guy, tall and strong sharing the same likes has hers but one.

He's quite gross, medium and mediocre, but they both are pokemon fanatics.

That's where the phrase "Nice guys finish last" comes in and chases me.
