How do you get divorced, with kids.?
9 AnswersMarriage & Divorce5 years agoEmpty wall in homeschool room?
I have 2 computer desks (really two halves of an antique table) attached to one wall in the school room. This wall is about 8 feet square, no windows, light blue. It is in a house over 100 years old. What could I put on the wall above the computer desks? I have some educational posters, but I want the wall to look good, and maybe also be useful as storage or display.
3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling7 years agoHow do you get a 400-lb. bathtub back into a bathroom without damaging the new tiles and walls?
To get it out, the men had to turn it one side first, and stand it on one end.
3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling9 years agoWhere can I buy needles and bobbins for a treadle sewing machine (Minnesota A)?
Grandma uses her old sewing machine to sew quilts. She could use a few long needles and bobbins.
3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden10 years agoWhat should I do with my great-grandma's unfinished crazy quilt?
I have two parts of an unfinished crazy quilt, about 3 x 4 feet each. Should I finish it as a crazy quilt, or mount the pieces on black fabric and finish that as a quilt?
I don't know exactly how old the quilt pieces are, but the quilter died about 1990 at the age of 96.
1 AnswerHobbies & Crafts10 years agoAfter removing wall tile, how do I remove the dark plaster that was holding them on?
The dark, rough plaster-like material is hard and stuck. I can chisel it off, but that would take too long. I am planning to try a reciprocating saw with a chisel attachment. Any other advise?

Do you know of a jogging stroller that could be used by a skinny (50) pounds, tall child who has CP?
2 AnswersSpecial Education1 decade agoWhich has more overweight or obese children, public school or homeschool, or is there no difference?
Wondering if being homeschooled provides more activity and better food choices.
8 AnswersHome Schooling1 decade agoWhat are some good activities for teenage boys?
I mean for a special outing, not a continuous thing. Like going sledding or hiking.
3 AnswersAdolescent1 decade agoRigid schedule or relaxed homeschool?
I see some people have a rigid schedule doing homeschool with concerns about credits, grades, and tests, while others do more relaxed homeschooling, with kids choosing their classes and not keeping grades. What is the best way to do homeschool?
5 AnswersHome Schooling1 decade agoSupraventricular Tachycardia--how do you treat it?
If you have it, what are you doing to treat it? I can't use blood pressure medication, since my normal blood pressure is 89/64. I want to know what others are using.
3 AnswersHeart Diseases1 decade agoWhere can I get bulk food products, and large containers to feed a family of 10?
I need to find a way to get more food for less money. We live in a rural area, far from a major city.
3 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoWhy do some people oppose homeschooling with such angry emotion?
I don't understand why they are so concerned about other people's children, and why they assume that the parents are stupid, abusive, and crazy. Homeschooling has turned out outstanding well-educated citizens. The data is in, and it is highly favorable for homeschooling.
Also, why do they say homeschooling takes money away from public schools? Homeschooling parents have to pay for all their children's education themselves, so the government doesn't have the expense of doing it. Yet, the parents still have to pay taxes to support public schools, even if their own children don't attend.
10 AnswersHome Schooling1 decade agoWhy do men often think I am lying when I'm not?
I have had dentists, doctors, Boy Scout leaders, supervisor at work, pastor, etc. think I am lying when I'm not. I do not have a reputation of being a liar, as I always strive to tell the truth even more that most others I know. I have seen on a science-based TV show that when someone has eyes close together, others perceive deception in the face. My eyes are very close together, so much so that I can't get microscope or binoculars eye pieces to adjust close enough. Could it be my close-together eyes that cause men to think I am lying?
1 AnswerPsychology1 decade agoWhat do I do? Special ed coordinator harassing me about homeschooled children.?
I am enrolling one of my children (who has CP) into public school. The special ed coordinater that has been handling it has been making rude and unnecessary comments about my other children who are being homeschooled. She has made comments about getting them enrolled in public school, and asked me if I was in special ed, too. (I have an IQ of 160 and was the valedictorian in my class.) I specifically told her that I didn't want my other children involved in this. I am only enrolling the one to make it easier for myself, and I think he will enjoy the extra attention.
2 AnswersSpecial Education1 decade agoIs it legal for a public school to make a disabled child wait 30 days to start school?
I have a child who has cerebral palsy. He has been homeschooled and is now 9 years old. I have asked about getting him started in public school. The school's website says a student can start 1-2 days after registering. However, the special ed coordinator tells me my child has to wait up to 30-45 days before he can start. She says they need to get him evaluated and everything "set up" for him before he can start. Doesn't the school have an obligation to give him reasonable accommodations within the same time frame as "normal" students?
7 AnswersHome Schooling1 decade agoHow do you keep cats out of your indoor box garden?
The cats want to use the kids' box garden for a litter box. Is there a way to keep the cats out besides putting sticks in the soil? We don't have a place to put the box where the cats can't get to it.
2 AnswersCats1 decade agoWhat's it like to use the CADI waver for your disabled child?
We live in MN. I have heard that you have to have social workers monitoring your life, and telling you what to do with your child. Please tell me about it. We are considering it for our child.
