  • DBT clients or Professionals, how much does it help?

Does it either work or not work, or is there an in-between? How open to it does one have to be to it? It seems like an incredible commitment.

Answers only from those who know about DBT preferred.

    Serious question, no Trolls please.

  • How would a person on SSDI find out if they can get food stamps?

I saw the question posted a little bit ago, and wondered what website there may be to see if you could qualify for food stamps.

Apparently from the answers to the previous question it may vary from state to state.

    Thanks to all serious responses.

  • Family Tree Maker, which one to get?

I'm looking to get FTM software, a 2011 edition, going to start from scratch, meaning no older versions to input info from. I'm trying to figure out if there is any real difference between the Essentials, Deluxe, and Platinum version beside the length of free ancestry.com you get. ?.

Also, does anyone know if the free ancestry.com begins once you install the software or can you choose when to start your free time?

  • What is the origin of calling someone a tool?

I know how to use the term, I just want to know exactly where it came from to use it as a descriptive of someone and what you are exactly really calling someone when you say they are a tool. (To repeat, I know how to use the term.)

    If you know - thanks.

  • What is the deal with Chocolate and women, why does it seem to be gender related?

I just read the question and answers regarding another chocolate question and hope some of the people who answered there see this too.

So, why is it that it seems like women have more of a need for chocolate then men?

Are women more conditioned somehow mentally to want it more, is it more hormonal for women, what is it?

I haven't ever experienced chocolate giving me some kind of high, or anything similar in any means to sexual satisfaction.

  • City, state, and country names...why?

I'm in the US. Do people around the world also refer to US cities also by the state the way we do here? For example we would say Las Vegas, Nevada, US to refer to it internationally, but we don't refer to Munich, Bavaria, Germany, we just say Munich, Germany. It seems to flip flop a little in Canada. In the US we usually refer to Toronto, Canada, not Toronto, Ontario, but we usually say Vancouver, British Columbia or Halifax, Nova Scotia. (I don't know how old I was before I realized Nova Scotia was part of Canada and not it's own country.)

I don't know if this is only how people in the US do things or not. Any thoughts, please.

  • Unfair to do to a therapist?

I feel bad about telling my therapist about my darkness and making her concerned about my safety. I usually avoid the subject, but feel at times I need to talk about it. I know what to say or not say so I don't go to the hospital (long, long history), but I need to talk about things and again, it leaves my therapist worried about my safety. How do I not feel bad about this?

Answers from psych students and professionals would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
