She is 32,did the hitting and attacking when she was high and drunk. That's her excuse--oh I didn't know what I was doing.I know she has tremendous resentment against me,as I was a practicing alcoholic in her younger years but have been in recovery for many years now.and am a good Mom now.She did these attacks years later to me,obviously holding old resentments. I have told her I did not hit or attack you--I am not the bad guy here--you are--you HIT me! She acts and says I'm the wrong for pressing charges against her. And to top it all off, her father agrees with her. How do I deal with this--what do I say to her? It hurt so much emotionnally when she hit me and physically too, So to stop her from doing it again and again I felt my only choice was to press charges to stop the cycle. I love her very much ,and forgive her .Can she ever realize she was the perp and I was the victim? I want to have a real relationship with her,but that seems impossible.Again, I say I love and forgive her.

What is the personality trait or dysfunction that causes them to do this, and how should you deal with it or respond to this in a rational way?

I am also a recovering alcoholic and been sober doing well for a long time. He has always badmouthed me to the kids their whole life, and I know they believe him because they won't have any contact with me at all anymore.When they were younger,they were cordially nice, now they won't even talk to me,and will not let me see the grandkids. How is the best way to handle this? I have tried talking to them,and asked why they are listening to him and they won't talk about it. I do not want to estrange them any more than already is.It hurts me so badly inside--all I know to do is pray for them.Yes,I belong to AA--want some more input. Thank you all for listening.

I am going in for hip and back surgery, and he does not want to divorce me b/c of all the money he would lose, so he thinks he can get rid of me this way--can he legally in Texas?, And if he tries to do it by locking me out, what actions can I take to prevent this? Needless to say, we do not get along--he is retired,I am disabled and we are around each other all the time. CanI call the police to get back into my house? Right now,divorce is not an option for me and I want to live in my house--it is half mine.

My husband thinks that he can put in his will for his social security survivor benefits to go to his adult daughter. Is that true,or do the ss benefits go by law automatically to the surviving spouse?

I was gone for awhile voluntarily , living separately from my legal husband,and now want to live at the house again.He says that he can legally prevent me from moving back in. Can he do that? What are my rights? I live in Houston.

we have a bad infestation in our home.can we spray the house ouirselves, or is professional the only way? any home remedies?? where would i get the spray?
