Pokemon White ROM Cheats not activating?
I'm using an acekard 2i to run the Pokémon White hack "Volt White."
I want to use the cheat codes function, and it has many in there for me to select. I chose the codes I want, but every time I boot to the game, they're not activated. It works for other games (such as HeartGold), but they won't activate on Volt White. I've tried pressing Select+Start+Up, I've tried rebooting the game several times, rebuilding the database, etc etc. Nonetheless, it won't work.
Will it just not work because it's already a patched game? Or is there something I can do?
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games7 years agoCan I run GBA ROMs with an Acekard 2i?
I want to buy a flashcart for my DSi, and the main feature I am looking for is the ability to run GBA ROMs. I really would like to buy it from somewhere in North America. Can I do this with the Acekard 2i? If not, does anyone have another suggestion?
Thanks!
3 AnswersVideo & Online Games8 years agoPhysical copy of ROM?
So I have a slightly edited (by me) ROM of Pokemon Emerald, and I'd really like to have a hard copy of it that I could play either in my DSi or GBA SP.
I have heard about flashcarts and the like, but does anyone have any specific suggestions/instructions for what I can do? I'd really like to have either a usable DS card with it or a GBA cartridge with it. Does anyone know where I could get one and how to do this?
1 AnswerOther - Games & Gear8 years agoResources for learning Esperanto?
Does anyone know any really good resources for learning Esperanto? I'm a VERY big fan of the old style textbook method, and would REALLY prefer a book, but would be willing to try other methods as well. I know Spanish, French, and Italian as well, so while I know I'm getting picky, if there was one that compared them to those regularly that would be beyond fantastic.
Thanks!
2 AnswersLanguages8 years agoDeciding on which language to learn?
I know a few languages and I think I'm ready to begin tackling another. I'm not hung up on practicality, but rather a language which I have fun learning/using. My problem is that I believe I should pick whichever I'm impassioned to learn, but that "passion" can change on a daily basis. To date, all the languages I've learned I got dedicated to because I managed to get a good amount of work in before I could change my mind, and liked what I'd seen so far so decided to stick with it. On a regular basis, there is a list of languages that pop into my head–Esperanto, German, Dutch, Catalan, Portuguese, Romanian, Greek, etc. My problem is deciding /which/ I want to try next.
If it makes any difference, I know English, Spanish, French, and Italian (at varying levels of fluency) right now. Any advice on how to pick? Any experience with those languages?
Note: Like I said, practicality is nearly irrelevant to me; I'm doing this for fun, not for usefulness.
3 AnswersLanguages8 years agoHow to say "to match" in Italian?
What is the Italian verb for "to match," i.e. "________ le parole italiane della sinistra alle parole inglese nella destra" (Match the Italian words from the left to the English words on the right)? Preferably the infinitive. Thanks!

If I turn off Photo Stream on an iPhone, which therefor deletes all Photo Stream pictures from the phone, can I get them back by turning it back on? Thanks!
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans8 years agoHow to express a unit number in Italian?
How do you express a unit number in Italian? For example, if I wanted to title something "Unit Twelve" would it be "Unità dodici" or "Unità di dodici"?
2 AnswersLanguages8 years agoHard time making the "gli" sound in Italian?
I know how the gli sound is supposed to sound, but I have a REALLY hard time making that. People tell me it just sounds like the way most people say the lli in "million," but I pronounce the l's in million. One person told me to try making an l sound while making the back of my tongue touch the roof of my mouth rather than the tip, but I end up slurring the whole word when I do that. Any suggestions?
3 AnswersLanguages8 years agoWhen can contractions be used in Italian?
The contraction rules in Italian confuse me. I've never actually seen a list or page of the rules, I've just seen that sometimes people contract things and sometimes they don't. Like, I've seen "Cos'hai fatto?" but been told that "Cos'hanno fatto?" is incorrect. Are there any specific rules?
3 AnswersLanguages8 years agoDutch language textbook?
Does anyone know any good textbooks for learning Dutch? Preferable available on Amazon or B&N, and preferably under $50...respond with any you know, though, whether or not it matches those preferences. Thanks!
1 AnswerLanguages8 years agoCustom web app icons on iPad?
I added two websites to my homescreen, but as they're not formatted for the iPad the icon just looks like a screenshot of the website. Is there a way to change the icon to one of my choosing? My iPad is jailbroken if that changes anything.
Thanks
1 AnswerProgramming & Design8 years agoForeign language books (Spanish and French?)?
I'm pretty fluent in Spanish, and not far behind in French. I'm looking for some books that a beginner could read for both. When I say beginner, I mean someone who's just starting to read books fully in a foreign language, but has a good grasp on vocabulary and grammar. A teacher at my school has the book Le Petit Prince for French and it looks like what I'm looking for, though haven't gotten a chance to really look through it much. I know there's a Spanish version available (El Principito?) and was wondering if you have any other suggestions for me.
Thanks!
4 AnswersLanguages8 years agoPutting apps back on TI-84 Plus SE?
For the NYS Regents, my calculator had all of the applications disabled and the ever-so-helpful teacher tried to "fix" it afterwards by formatting the calculator. Well, now I have nothing other than the "Finance..." app and I don't know my way around the (ever non-user friendly) TI Connect software. I have to use it on a PC because they haven't updated the software since 2010 and it doesn't function on my Mac. First, I'd like to know if I have to download all of the apps individually or if there is some archive with all of them that I can download at once? Second, how do I install the apps? Here is what I see on TI DeviceExplorer

2 AnswersOther - Electronics8 years agoBest US colleges for linguistics and foreign language?
I really think I'm going to end up doing something with foreign language when I graduate from college (probably teaching) (by the way, I'm not even in college yet) and I want to go to a college that has both good foreign language and linguistics programs. Unfortunately, the only absolutely outstanding ones I could find were Harvard and Stanford. Harvard I really have no chance for, and while my grades are good enough for Stanford and I could PROBABLY afford tuition and fees there, visiting home on the east coast would be hard to afford after all that. There's another one that seems very good (but not quite AS good) at SUNY Stony Brook, and I'm okay with that, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has any knowledge about colleges under that category.
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)8 years agoWhy won't the Iberian Peninsula give up the preterite tense?
I've noticed that most modern Romance languages have nearly eliminated the use of the preterite (passato remoto, passé simple, etc.) and switched to a compound past (passato prossimo, passé composé) EXCEPT on the Iberian Peninsula. Both Portuguese and Spanish have maintained the usage of a preterite, while in languages like French and Italian they've merged their preterites with their compound pasts, which are now only used in very formal speech and in writing. I guess I really have two questions: one, why did French and Italian stop using their preterites, and two, why didn't Spanish and Portuguese?
PS - Sorry if there are non-Iberian Romance languages that still use a preterite in regular speech; I know the names and locations of many other Romance languages, but not much more about them.
2 AnswersLanguages8 years agoWhy do the people here have faulty logic?
Seriously. Homophobic Christians enjoy spending time in the LGBT section and Atheists typically hang out in the Religion and Spirituality section.
I'm a gay UU and tend to spend my time where my presence is relevant and sense-making.
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality8 years agoConfused about Italian numbers?
Okay I get a bit confused when it comes to bigger numbers in Italian, especially when writing out dates. Could someone translate these numbers for me? Everywhere I see suggests a slightly different method of spacing them and whatnot so I'm a bit confused...thanks!

2 AnswersLanguages8 years agoAbbreviations for Italian titles?
I realised that I'm learning more complex grammar topics in Italian, yet never learned the abbreviations for Signor, Signora, and Signorina! I'm looking for the Italian equivalents of the English Mr./Mrs./Ms., the Spanish Sr./Sra./Srta., or the French M./Mme/Mlle.? I read somewhere that they were, respectively, Sig./Sig.a/Sig.ina but for some reason those just don't look right to me...anyone know?
1 AnswerLanguages8 years agoHow can I make a book?
I peer-teach an Italian class, and all along I've been making nice printed copies of the notes in a Word document. I'd like to find an easy tool that would let me upload or copy these documents into a real, nice looking book. I don't really care whether it's paperback or hardcover, and I'm not looking to publish it professionally, just one or two copies. I've seen Bookemon, and I like that, but I was wondering if there are any alternatives. Thanks!
