Test asked what bone is fractured most & didn't put the right answer on the test. what would you pick?
I have a take home test. The most commonly fractured is the clavicle, but it only gave trapeziium, phalanx, scaphoid, and metacarpal. The scaphoid is the most commonly injured of the carpal bones, I think maybe phalanx cause there is so many, but im not sure...
1 AnswerInjuries8 years agoBiochem/chem help, potassium concentration...?
Many biochemical reactions that occur in cells require relatively high concentrations of potassium ion (K+). The concentration of K+ in muscle cells is about 0.15 M. The concentration of K+ in blood plasma is about 0.0050 M. The high internal concentration in cells is maintained by pumping K+ from the plasma. How much work must be done to transport 1.0 mol K+ from the blood to the inside of a muscle cell at 37°C, normal body temperature?
When 1.0 mol K+ is transferred from blood to the cells, why do other ions have to be transported?

5 AnswersBiology10 years agohow do you find the amount of Joules gained by a calorimeter (gen chem help)?
Given
HNO3 + KOH --> KNO3 (aq he) + H20
the heat gained by the calorimeter and the heat of the reaction (assume the density and the specific heat are the same as distilled water):
Temp of 50.0 mL of HNO3 before mixing : 22.0 degrees Celsius
Temp of 50.0 mL of KOH before mixing : 22.0 degrees Celsius
Temp of 100.0 mL of reaction mixture : 34.5 degrees Celsius
how many joules are gained my the solution, how many joules are gained by the calorimeter and what is the heat of reaction?

2 AnswersChemistry10 years agoi have a high pain tolerance, no issues seeing blood and yet i still faint if i get cut. why?
like i participate in 3 sports, and i get hurt and can deal with it. i have had tons of sprains and bruise etc... yet i cut my thumb with a knife (less than an inch) and fainted... and i fainted when i got my cartilage pierced... its not like i was in pain, hell i barely felt it... but i still faint. WHY?!?!?
oh and i can totally stare at and fix others peoples cuts with no issues too... so its not the sight of blood....

14 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoI was using a weight machine and now my knee hurts, what is wrong? (more in details)?
so i was using this machine http://s3.hubimg.com/u/2775218_f520.jpg and i did 12 reps and added more weight to do another set, after a few at the greater weight my knee started to kinda click as i went down (when my leg was like a 75 degree angle), it kinda hurt but i wanted to finish out so i kept going and the continual clicking got more painful so i stopped.
long story short i have been walking on it all day and it hasn't stopped hurting. its a sharp shooting pain on the outside of my left knee. mostly it hurts going down steep hills, up hills and stairs and also when im walking (but not as bad walking as stair). even just sitting there is a dull ache
