I went downstairs to my basement and saw a baby or very young mouse (had fur and could see I think) scurrying out in the open.

It didn't run away as soon as I saw it like most mice and rats usually do.

Not only that but I was also able to catch up to it and trap it in a heavy glass cup and I killed + disposed of it.

Is this a sign of a bigger mouse problem (indoor nests?) or did this young mouse just happen to stumble into basement and likely from an outside nest?

in modern, 2017 rendition of Chicago law, is it legal to carry a sword for the purpose of self-defense and no unlawful intent what so ever?

Or would self-defense using a sword be considered unlawful intent?

The sword is 19 inches in length.

hypothetically, you are witnessing a street fight and someone loses and the "winner" starts stomping on the other person's head. Would this be attempted murder and justifies me taking action?

this just happened today. I turn my computer on and it powers up but there's no sounds or images on the screen monitor. The computer stays on but in a strange low power-ish mode and makes very little sound.

salaam 3alaykum, my shaykh gave a lecture on shirk a couple weeks back. Shirk is defined as associated other beings with Allah but why are angels not shirk when they are immortal and have powers beyond humans like Allah? They're not as strong as Allah but they are lesser beings and my Shaykh said that believing even in lesser gods counts as shirk. Should I stop believing in angels?

What would be the pros and cons if a country had two Central banks instead of one?

Scenario: an evil politician used his political powers to kick out a bunch of people from a valuable piece of land and then gave it to your great-grandfather.

Couple generations later, you and the rest of your family whom descend from the great-grandfather still live on and own the property.

The descendants of the people who were kicked out during your great-grandfathers time has come back and asked that you give the land back to them and they have the land title and deeds to backup that they are the original owners.

Is it ethically wrong or ethically right to not give back the land to the original owners ? Why or Why not?

I was raised in an extremely religious household but American society (as well as my own annoyance) had made my religiosity diminish.

In place of that religiosity is my own sense of extreme nationalism for me and my people. All I think is "how can I better my own ethnicity?"

It won't go away. Do I just embrace my extreme ethnic nationalism / ethnic patriotism or should I really be diminishing it as well like what happened to my religiosity?
