  • De facto legal status of marijuana by country?

A couple years ago I was just browsing questions on here and I came across one where an answerer had suggested a website that would give the legal status of marijuana by country, even a breakdown of how sympathetic certain cities might be, pretty much everything you could want to know if you were thinking of getting high while abroad. I've been trying to find the site today, but I can't remember what it was called, and I can't find the site or the question now. Does anybody have any idea what site I'm talking about?

  • Help with an LED array?

I'm working on an LED array, and I need to figure out how big a current-limiting resistor I need. I have the Shockley diode equation and I figured I'd just use that with Ohm's law and solve the system of equations, but I can't figure out the reverse bias saturation current, I have an equation for it, but it requires a number of values I don't have access to. I'd just use one of the online calculators to figure out my resistance values, but I need more detailed information to build the circuit safely. I only have 1/2 W resistors, and the fewer I cook the happier I am. Anybody have an easier solution? Some way I can make an estimate, average values for different sizes and colors?

  • Anyone know what the deal with this girl is?

During my senior year in high school, I decided to pursue this girl who was a year younger than me, I screwed it up, but it wasn't a big thing, I just gave her her space for awhile, and by the end of the year we were pretty close. I went to college and we talked that year, went on a few dates, and I told her that I wanted to be more than just friends, I can't remember what she said at that point, but a month later, I just got this random message basically telling me that it wasn't going to happen. I wanted to talk about it, and eventually, she just blocked me. I was polite mind you, I just wanted to talk about it. So, I deleted her, insert high school drama here. Six months later she adds me on facebook, at this point I've gotten on with my life, but I figure sure, we can be friends, and I figure I'll be friendly and send her a message saying, "hi, how are you?" no answer, so I figured it was too soon to be friends again, and let it sit. It's two years later now, I haven't talked to her at all, and I just happened to discover that she's deleted me. I figure she was just getting rid of her facebook friends that she wasn't really friends with, and I'm cool with that, but I just don't get the whole situation. I have my theories, she liked having me around, liked being taken out, but didn't want to commit, but it just has never made sense to me. Can anybody figure this one out?

  • What do you think of dating "just for fun?"?

I'm not sure what it even means, I really don't think it can work, is there a goal other than to have fun? I guess I don't see the point. I was dating this girl "just for fun," which really just meant she asked whether we were in a relationship or just dating for fun and I didn't want to commit right then, and well, she's officially out of the picture now, but apparently all this time, we've just been seeing each other for fun, and I guess I just don't get it? Why would I pay for date after date when I'm just looking for fun. It's a whole hell of a lot cheaper for me to go down to the bar and get my fun there. The girls are better looking too. I guess I'm just looking for someone who can explain to me what the hell was going on here. She certainly didn't seem ok with me seeing other girls, and I'm not terribly sad she's gone, but I am absolutely confused at what she thinks was going on. Can somebody help me out?

  • Girls, would you care if your boyfriend smoked cigars?

Not like an everyday thing, more like once a week or so. Would you date someone who did that?

  • I have issues with the concept of hell?

I was raised in a Christian family, so I've been fully indoctrinated and all that, but awhile back I was thinking about hell and the meaning of eternity, and it just struck me as incredibly sadistic. We get all of this talk about God being loving and all-powerful, but if he loves us so much, why do we have to go to hell if we don't give our lives to him. It just seems like God is the guy who will say, "I love you, but if you ever try to leave me I'll kill ya." We don't call that love, we call that abuse. I can understand punishment, like you would punish a child, but unimaginable suffering... forever? If he loves us and is all-powerful, why does it have to be this way? Rules may be rules, but he made the rules, I just can't seem to work my way around this. I've felt this way for months, and nobody has been able to give me a satisfactory answer, they just tell me about how wonderful God is, or what God is doing in their lives. Alright, this is too long already, but if you think you know the answer and your answer isn't "The end is near." or some sort of atheist answer demeaning people who have faith, I'd love to hear it.

  • What about this girl?

A few months ago I went out to this show, met this girl, danced with her for awhile, then we made out outside the bar, she invited me back to her hotel room, I slept with her, she was still happy to see me in the morning, we made out again, she drove me back to my apartment. She lives in another town, I haven't seen her since. The same band is coming back in a couple of weeks, so I'm just wondering should I message her or something, or should I just go and hope for the best? Her friend hooked up with the fiddle player, so depending on what that turned into, the odds might be good. I'd be happy to see her again, I'm just not terribly experienced with one night stands, any advice?

  • What do you think of this one?

I was supposed to take this girl out last night, but 15 minutes before she sent me a text saying, "I am soooo sorry... yadda yadda yadda." I was, and am still somewhat peeved about this because it more or less shot my night. Anyway, I'm just not entirely sure what I should do at this point, do I stick to my guns and wait for her to call me? or do I swallow my pride and ask her out again? I don't think she's going to turn me down, she said hell yeah! to the first one, and she was fishing for my number the second time we ran into each other.

I'm thinking I probably ought to give her a second chance, but if somebody has a good argument going the other way, we'll see...

  • How much should I charge for advertising?

If I had a website with, say 2,000 hits per month, how much would I be able to charge for a banner or something like that sort, or would I even have people interested in advertising with my site at that number of hits?

  • Is there some sort of etiquette dictating how to remove butter from the cube?

It seems logical to take it from one end, but my roommate likes to dig in from the top. I'm just trying to figure out if this is something he was trained to do, or if this is just something he does. I know it's poor manners to leave the butter knife embedded in the butter, but what about removing butter to butter toast or something like that? What is proper?

  • How should I deal with my ex?

We broke up over 5 months ago, but she still lives nearby, and is still friends with me and my roommate, so she's over from time to time whether I invite her or not. The problem is that I'm still her go-to person if she's having trouble. She likes to unload on me because generally I'm a good person to unload on... except she's my ex. When I started dating her, she made me promise that in the event of a break-up we would still be friends, and to go back on that would require me to swallow my pride, which is not something I enjoy doing. I'm alright being friends with her as long as she doesn't unload on me, but if I were to say something like, "we can hang out, and that's all well and good, but I can't help you with your problems" I would feel like a terrible person, and I don't know that I could even consider that a friendship. I've done the whole unavailable thing, and she eventually starts getting bitter about the fact that I don't call her, so it's not an ideal solution. My question is, how can I be her friend, but not get caught up in her personal issues?

  • What's wrong with my toe?

When I put pressure on one of my toes it hurts. It's kind of like a sharp, stiff pain I'm not sure quite how to describe it. The type and amount of pressure required to make it hurt changes all the time, so I can't really describe it. It's been like this for over a month. I'm not sure how I hurt it, my best guess is that I did it while bodyboarding last summer. I don't like going to the doctor, any thoughts on what it might be or how to make it feel better would be welcome.
