  • How to lower center of gravity on a motorcycle?

How to lower center of gravity on a motorcycle?

Say you are building a sport bike how would you lower the center of gravity to ad performance and handling?

I have an idea of a fuel tank under the seat... Or even under the engine... Fuel is heavy!

I understand that the fuel tank is on the top because older motorcycles fuel system was gravity feed... That is not the case anymore with fuel injected bikes...

    What do you guys think???

  • Why do all 600cc super sport motorcycles run 120/70 180-190/55 tires?

1.- What is the advantage of running those tires sizes?

2.- Does it help with turn in, and cornering dynamic geometry?

3.- Is there an advantage to run these wheel and tires on other performance built motorcycles?

4.- And the big question why are the tire manufacturers going bigger with /60 profiles (Pirelli), and 190 series tires (Dunlop)?

  • Learning how to drift on a motorcycle...?

Is it best to learn on the track?

    Or off road?

My gut says practice on dirt, until you can do it consistently...

I was looking into flat track riding... But, I do not even know where to start looking for flat track riding...

I think this would be an interesting skill to master... What is the advise from the Road Racing on-line community?

  • What is a good choice for a good handling Cafe Racer motorcycle?

I am looking to build a Cafe Racer motorcycle with good handling characteristics, hopefully something in the 80-100 hp I am hoping to mount modern super sport suspension, brakes and alloy wheels... The idea is an old school look with modern technology components. A bike I can have fun and drag knee, but that won't easily wheelie.

AC powered, with back up 9 volt batteries. They have work fine for almost a year... However, recently they started to go off about 2-3 times a day for no apparent reason... I replaced the batteries, but the problem remains... Any advise to diagnose the problem is welcome... Thanks, Luis
