This was via text. Met him on New Years, have seen him once since. He is a work o holic and very busy. We live three hours away from each other and he was talking about coming up here two week-ends from now. So, I'm thinkin' it's pretty much done.

I think you are over thinking this. What he said doesn't give any indication of how he feels about you. In fact, what it seems like to me is its possible he doesn't have a lot of dating experience and is trying to appear "cool" to impress you. I guess its all just a matter of perspective. And some of the other answers are just bizarre, red flag really?
