why do people vote for the best answer then vote for the wrong answer?

The answer you gave was the only correct answer to you. Perhaps the people voting did not agree with you. It is all opinions and you will not agree with everyone's opinion all the time. Just keep giving the answers you feel comfortable with, sometimes people will agree with you and sometimes they won't.

I think you shouldn't be concerned with why the people vote for an answer that you consider to be wrong as best answer.

Why not instead concern yourself with just doing the best you can and let the chips fall where they may.

In other words, you cannot control the actions of other people, but you have control over your own actions.

So, why not continue having fun, doing your best, helping people here on YA instead of leaving and giving up.

a lot of them just vote the first answer no matter if it`s right or wrong .This is why giving points for voting is not a good idea .A better idea would be taking more points away from an asker who doesn`t choose a best answer .

Keep answering things correctly!

Some people do waste their votes on the wrong answers, but if enough of us make the effort to vote for the real best answer, things will get better!

Well, if it's opinion-based questions you're talking about, there's no "right" answer, everyone's answer is "right" to them. What matters here is the view put across in the best/most convincing/funniest way. If you're talking about factual questions, where there's a definite right answer, maybe the voters don't actually know the right answer?

I know! it does rile me a bit. Sometimes they just get on with one of the people answering so give them the points to be nice. I know before I got 10 thumbs up for a question and they gave the points to someone who had none. lol, I was disappointed with that!!

I got 'best answer' once , my answer was not correct, but it gave the asker a good laugh.

Try to show some wit in your answers, then you may get some where.

What? And we're all supposed to just aggree with you and kiss your butt and vote for your answers only as the best answers? Get a life and get real. We're entitled to our own oppinnions and such and we'll pick the answers we want got it? I hope so. I should remember your name and vote you down every time. I hope every one else does too. 2 points.

This is internet forum not an entrance exam quesions. Best answer is not 'right' answer. Get it?
