cats are really picky eaters, so chances are that it wont harm the cat to eat lettuce or cheese if she's asking for it. some cats are lactose intolerant, like my cat, but even when i first got him he never touched the milk i gave him, so cheese may give a problem, but lettuce shouldn't be a problem at all.

I think it's OK to give cats some cheese. One of my cats loves cream cheese . I cannot make a bagel without her being there I guess she knows the sound of opening the package. It's one of those times when I have her complete attention. She's not happy till she gets some cream cheese. The lettuce is fine my cats eat apples and broccoli.

I let my cat lick some yogurt from the lid and for the next TWO days he had nothing but the runs. The diary we eat is harsh on the cats stomach. Try foods made for cats. Most should be easy on a cats stomach. My cats beg for anything I'm eating. So it's not just the cheese. They have a FABULOUS sense of smell and they are quite curious.

There's nothing wrong with giving your cat a little cheese, unless it makes him/her puke or have diarrhea. My cat goes CRAZY for string cheese, she will be upstairs and hear me unwrap a string cheese wrapper and come barreling down the stairs ; )

I don't advise giving any human food to a cat. My husband used to give his cat a few scraps now and then. Now, she's constantly begging while we eat. God forbid we leave anything sitting out unattended, even a closed bag of bread, she'll get into it.

sure - why not? Just don't overdo it. I used to give my cat Cheezewhiz as a treat when he was 2. Now, I can't find Cheesewhiz were I moved... Never harmed my kitty.
