Getting wet clumping litter out of carpet?

The best thing to do is wait for it to dry-it will just smear if you try to clean it wet. After it dries, use a stiff bristled brush to loosen it from the carpet, then vacuum. You may have to alternate brush and vacuum a few times to get it all.

Just vacuum it up. Wait until the rest is dried and vacuum again. It should not leave a stain, but if it does, a good carpet spot cleaner or pet carpet cleaner should do the trick. You should put down a inexpensive large rug under the litter box that does not have the cover, maybe that will help when the little one gets in again. Which it will, you can't be there all the time!

Our cat had a similar problem but then we decided to experiment with different litters a bit. We came accross this other type of litter that is much easier to clean up, plus it wont track in cats feet! The litter looks like rabbit alphalpha pellets and there are 2 brands that I know of although there are probably others. One is called "ysterdays news" it is made of recycled newspaper so not only is it easier to clean but it is environmentally friendly. The other is called cat country and as pellets roughly the same size made of wheat grass. the ltter is easy to clean up and can be toilet flushed too making it really easy to look after. As for the litter stuck in your carpet, I'd try to remove as uch of the dried litter as possible before cleaning the spot to avoid more litter sticking to the carpet fibres. Also a tracking mat below your litter box may help get the grit off your cats feet before it gets to the rug.

I think I'd let it dry out a bit and then try to vacuum. That clumping litter as you probably know, likes to smear and stick to everything when wet. Maybe if it dries out it will come up easier. Good Luck!
