(UK) I fancy a career change, any suggestions?

Currently I'm a vehicle technician in a main dealership but I fancy a change. I'm technically minded and good with computers and the public. Anyone got ideas for me?

I always wanted my child to be or marry a vehicle mechanic - they have the potential to make so much money - either on their own or working for a garage!

You have a lot of computer based work at present. Why not look at one of the home tuning franchises. This is where you come round in a van and run diagnostics on the car at the customers home. Lets you keep your hands clean and allows you to work in an area that you know well. Your skills would be appreciated by the customer.

Where in the world... PC World!

At least you have the advantage of actually knowing something about computers...

Or try and get an IT position in a large business. A different kind of technician if you will.

There is always money and constant work in computer repair.

If not for a company, why not take the plunge and go for a small business loan and work for your self?
