Should a "top contributor" badge actually MEAN a person gives THOROUGH answers about Hockey?
Or if someone is obviously "gaming the system" is that OK?
Personally I think there are plenty of people here trying to LEARN our wonderful sport, they should not be misled by FRAUDS.
What do you think?
Matt - I asked the question very CLEARLY and within the bounds of the Yahoo Community Guidelines. Now would you care to answer it? It's not "rocket science".....
Clarification -- for "Most" top contributors here it is obvious they know Hockey, communicate that knowlege well, and explain their positions.
This question is about ONE person in particular. All you have to do is LOOK at their profile...it's not deep, it won't take you a lot of time to figure out that something here is "fishy".
For myself, I DON'T CARE.
There are people here who are learning the game and how wonderful it is and I don't want to see THEM misled by a "top contributor" badge into thinking this person "knows a lot".
I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but Bob Loblaw, where are you on this one?
Agreed, based on the question, a simple number or yes or no answer may suffice.
But this person is giving brief answers to questions that demand more ALL THE TIME, and even worse getting awarded "best answer" for it.

I think they are handed out indiscriminately and what we get are a few gamers and morons who think they are gods.
I don't give them anything unless they are truly helpful. If they want to carry the badge of honor, then I will hold them to a higher standard than most.

those that answer interior the easy strategies as specific or no, or like u suggested basically some words are no longer questioning issues out. they only go with factors. i'm a philosopher and basically answer issues that i might have an answer for. This one...properly possibly 3. you will possibly desire to think of related to the question and supply an answer that individuals could be helped. i'm specific i will get incredibly some thumbs down, yet that may not what it truly is all approximately. Plus it takes me awhile to variety. i'm no longer the quickest guy or woman available. wish you like what I purely suggested. i like sharing my inner recommendations with others

I think there are a few people taking this site a little bit more serious than necessary.
What's with all the in-fighting?
Relax, enjoy the site.
Have fun.
Learn new things about hockey, learn what other people's opinions are.
Don't berate them if their opinion is different than yours. You DID ask them what it was.
Everything was fine on this site till yahoo did the 'top contributor' label. They need to get rid of it.
No, I don't think it's okay to game the system but what can you do about it?
Dang, I must be more naive than everyone else on here. I know you can have more than one yahoo account but it never entered my mind to do what everyone is accusing HABITANT, Bob Loblaw and juju(can't remember the rest of the name) of doing. That would take a lot of time and effort. Who's got that much time? I've been trying to get to the 5th level for a year!!!
Clueless, I'm adding to my answer. I didn't directly answer your question. No. I don't think it is always necessary to give a thorough answer. Sometimes a simple yes or no is sufficient.
Sometimes I give long answers (like this one lol!) and sometimes I give one word answers. Depends on how the question strikes me and what other peoples answers are.

I don't really care about top contributors - whoever answers my question best is who I'm going to go with. Having answered a lot of questions doesn't exactly mean you've answered them well.
Plus, who knows, one of you top contributors may be a Devils fan, and then we'd have to throw the whole system out the window! ;)

Give em' hell Clueless. He is outed now anyway, I guess it is not that big a deal, it just shows what a miniscule little life some have. Funny more than anything I guess.

Enough of us here to stop it if we want. Just take the time to vote. Once exposed the fraud will shrivel in the light of day.

Only if the question demands a thorough answer. I sure don't want to type any more than I have to.
