its basically, shredded white cabbage, grated carrot and finely chopped onion, all mixed together with low fat mayo. I add in a grated apple, it sweetens it and gives it a bit more moisture, so I suppose you could cut down on the mayo then.

you could thin out the mayo, with some water, if you wanted to reduce the fat content more, but be careful, not to make it too runny.

    salt and pepper to taste.

Grate a half head of medium size cabbage and two carrots. On these other items, start out with a smaller amount and adjust according to your taste. I don't measure them. I just "eyeball" it.

    Salt and pepper

    Celery Seed

    Low fat mayo

And the juice from Bread and Butter pickles - that is the clincher

Sometimes I add pineapple chunks or diced tomato.

I use the pickle juice in potato salad, macaroni salad and coleslaw and I have gotten several compliments on them.

That way you don't have to use sugar and vinegar. And the other spices in the pickle juice really adds that something extra.

My mother taught me that little trick.

Mix it up well and then taste to see if more of this or that needs to be added. Then refrigerate at least an hour to let the flavors blend.

    Enjoy!!!

Grate an onion, carrot and cabbage and mix with low fat mayonnaise and salt and pepper to taste. Alternatively you could use a red onion or red cabbage for a different taste or how about grating raw beetroot into it? As long as you use light mayonnaise it will be low fat

Chop the cabbage with a knife [less watery].

There are many different styles of slaw, but basically one uses mayonaise and one uses vinegar and oil. Using low fat mayo is good. Using unsaturated vegetable oils with vinegar is good.

I like a slaw using just mayo, cabbage, pepper and sugar, but you can add carrots, onions, apples, celery seed and such to taste.

For one with more bite, you take vinegar and oil, cabbage, onion, pickle relish, salt, pepper and any other veggies you like.

    Bar B-Q Cole-Slaw.

    This my husbands favorite.

Just do your cabbage and carrots as you normally do.

I do not know how much he usually puts in, but it to your liking.

    Vinegar

    Ketchup

    Sugar

    Worchestershire Sauce

    Salt

It is very good with pork.
