Why is it that sometimes when you get an electric shock...?

Have you noticed that sometimes your finger immediately jumps back as a reflex, but on other occasions it just gets stuck and you can't seem to move it at all(without it ACTUALLY being stuck, of course!)? Why is that?

Usually getting shocked by an electrical source will knock you back. Usually...but if it happens to be of the right frequency it can cause your muscles to lock up. Remember the human body is controlled by minute electrical currents too.

I think it's all about the intensity of the elctric shock. If it's pretty large the reflex kicks in.

If not your body doesn't activate the reflex and the shock goes through you.
