I'm going to disagree with the other answer. Since tendonitis is caused by repetitive motions, step one is to try & rest it. Get a wrist splint. The kind with a metal piece to immobilize it.
Second, do take anti-inflammitories. They reduce the inflammation. The only time anti-inflammitories shouldn't be taken is with a broken bone.
Thirdly. Do ice it. This takes the swelling down.
If it doesn't get better after 4-6 weeks a shot of cortisone might be needed
Good luck

try not to use it much for a few weeks. Put a heating pad on it as much as possible. DO NOT ice the area. Icing joints inhibits healing! Also, do no take anti-inflamatories! Inflamation is the body's way of healing the joint. Why do you think so many people have joint pain in the world? It's because doctors tell people to ice their joints and take anti-inflamatories when the get hurt. Its like peeling the scab of your cut all the time.

Sky dive without a chute that will take your mind off it. Seriously, tape it up and try not to use that hand.
