You can only get what you're entitled to. You said you don't want to be selfish but that's exactly what you are.

It doesn't just sound selfish, it IS selfish. When you say you don't 'want' to be selfish, you're just lying to yourself. What you're doing is trying to take unfair advantage of an unfortunate situation.

Is there any concrete reason for you to be compensated? Did you lose pay from your job? Even in that case, you're probably still going to have to spend a fair amount of time doing things like giving depositions, calling your insurance company to follow up, going for follow-up visits to the doctor, etc.

Otherwise, this is exactly the kind of thing that keeps insurance rates going up. The insurance companies will eventually pass their losses on to their customers; they're in business to make a profit, not lose money. (And you might as well know, even though the accident was not your fault, if you were driving the other car, your insurance company is eventually going to factor that into your rate & it's going to go up. It's just a fact of life.)

Getting money you don't honestly deserve is called STEALING.

I hope you feel better & do the right thing.

    Good luck !

accidents like yours happen everyday. Insurance company's don't just hand out money to whoever. You will get no money for your injuries unless it was a serious permanent injury. Something like in a coma, being disabled/wheel chair, lost of limb, just to name a few. All you are entitled to is repairs to your car if the damage cost does not exceed the red book value of your car and maybe physio therapy covered by your insurance.

Here's a new word for your vocabulary: indemnify.

Indemnity is making something whole again. If you break your leg, the insurance coverage will pay to get your leg fixed, and any salary you missed while out of work.

In this case, the other driver's insurance will indemnify you, fixing your car and paying your medical bills.

Another word for your vocabulary is opportunist. Look that one up.

Like for pain and suffering? Only if you miss work or your quality of life is changed by the accident. Hire yourself a lawyer, but you can't expect that just because you need money, you will get it because you were in an accident.

YOUR VEHICLE WILL BE REPAIRED AND YOU WILL BE COMPENSATED FOR YOUR DOCTORS VISIT AND ANYTHING ELSE WILL HAVE TO BE PROVED, DOCUMENTED AND INVESTIGATED.

IF YOU CLAIM THAT THIS ACCIDENT IS CAUSING YOU TO MAYBE SAY THAT YOU ARE UNABLE TO WORK AND THEY FIND OUT DIFFERENT, THEN NOT ONLY HAVE YOU LOST TIME AND MONEY FROM WORK BUT YOU HAVE NOW COMMITTED FRAUD SO BE CAREFUL.

similar thing just happened to my brother, he's healthy but needs some therapy for his back. he wasnt even going to visit the doctor until he thought he could get money and his lawyer said he can. But he can't work because of his "injury."

You can't. You will get money for your car repairs and for your injuries.
