Do i need to claim employment?

Ok im only a teenager thats about to go to college first off. I however had a job at Kmart, i had this job for 3 months but the management at that store was absolutely horrible. When the few people i could stand all quit i decided to join them and quit after 3 months with them, not that long at all.

I then got a job at frys but i just screwed this job up today. I was having a horible day, car broke down, people were mad at me, i couldnt get anything done etc. So i forgot to call in. I think they concsidered that a no sho no call so im done for. I tried calling it but having my day i couldnt calm myself down long enough to get off hold so i hung up and now i know for sure its over. Ive barely worked there for a little over a month.

I was just wondering, im taking a break letting things cool down and i will get another job later. But do i need to claim theese two jobs? Will this make no one hire me? Is my job career done for and i cant be succesful now? I want to finish HS first

No. You career is far, far from over.

I agree with you----just cool it for a while before you get another job. And you WILL get another job.

Therse jobs are part of your work history, You can't change history. But it shouldn't make you give up on your self. You made some mistakes, who doesn't?

You're not necessarily done at your current job. Call your boss tomorrow and explain what happened. If your boss is a nice person, they'll let you continue your job and just warn you to call before your shift if you ever have to miss work again. Typically, in most companies, 3 consecutive no call no shows is considered job abandonment, not one. I just had an employee no call no show on me on Saturday and when he called today and said his grandmother had a stroke, I told him I was sorry about his grandmom, next time, just call and let me know he won't be into work. Now, that said, if his call offs become excessive, then it becomes another issue of excessive absenteeism. As for listing your jobs, I wouldn't hire anyone who worked at a job 3 months, then his next job was less than a month. It shows no stability and I'm not going to waste my time hiring you if I think you'll leave in a couple of months or less. If you do leave your current job, I would definately suggest staying at your next job for quite awhile to prove your not irresponsible and just job hopping. Don't forget, call your boss in the morning.

No, she cannot claim the income as self-employment. She is an employee. You will need to issue her a W-2, withhold income tax, payroll tax, and unemployment taxes, and remit those taxes, along with the employer share of payroll taxes, to the IRS. Your state may also require withholding. Since the wages you pay her are not part of a trade or business, you have no deduction as an employer. Since she does not work in your home, but in the home of your mother, she does not fall under the more convenient Household Employee rules.

    Thers's good news and bad....

Your young so time will take care of this but you will have to be more responsible in the future as this is the bad news...

Just don't use them as a job reference or say you worked anywhere as most kids don't work until after school over.

But if you truley want a job try and show some responsibility.

You're not required to file if you didn't make over $8750 (personal exemption + standard deduction). However, I suggest you pickup a 1040EZ and a pen, and file anyway. It won't cost you anything.

And your "job career" isn't done; even if you wanted to have a career at Kmart of Frys.

Finish high school, then look for a job. Don't mention the other jobs, since they can't check employment they don't know about. Make a fresh start when you graduate, and good luck.
