Newly adopted stray cat has been chased into a a tree, it seems scared to come down on it's own- ?

Cats do eventually come down of their own accord even if it looks like a difficult climb right?

Update:

Thanks you all are making me feel better. You see my daughter found this cat a few days ago and started feeding it well our dog is not so keen on her new pet. I have no idea if it is neutered or if it has had shots but it now has a flea collar and litter box. It has also developed a very healthy fear of big yellow dogs.

I had one that I got help with getting down and another one I talked down. I would try talking it down - some cats don't know that they have to come down backwards.

i have been in this spot, realized the complicated way and had extra adventure because that from operating with a humane society. i don't believe of you could restore it. The canines has extreme prey stress and the cat responds by technique of operating, more advantageous spurring on the canines's prey stress. efficient cat-canines relationships happen at the same time as dogs have low prey stress and the cat isn't skittish and stands it is floor and does no longer run. many years in the past, I followed a brilliant golden retriever from a preserve who turned right into a effective canines yet changed into inquisitive about my cat that ought to continually conceal. i did not imagine he would damage her. in the destiny he flushed her out, chased her through the backyard, stuck her straight away and ended up breaking her tail close to the bottom (one extra vertebrae larger and she would have had a damaged back). thankfully, she recovered, yet I lower back the canines, because that I had had the cat longer. because that operating with the humane society I have realized you won't be able to prepare extreme prey stress away in a canines and it takes a particular style of cat (one with an mind-set) to make the canines study that it is not prey and is now to not be messed with. So base line, i don't believe of you've that concern with those animals and that i do imagine your cat ought to get damage.

Relax, dont panic. It'll only make the cat more scared. Just be sure to put its food at the bottom of the tree. Should 2 days pass w/o progress, call the firemen. End of story.

He will be ok. Cats will stay in a tree if they are frightened and if he is a stray he may be very wary of people. Just put down some water and food he will come down.

yes eventually they will.. put food down for them and that will lure them down - especially canned food = yummy!!

newly adopted cats should not be let outside for a while.. especially if they were strays before hand...

no cat who isnt spayed or neutered should be allowed outside at all.. and of course unvaccinated cats shouldnt be out...

if the cat hasnt come down after 12 hours... then you might try tougher measures like spraying water into the tree above the cat...

Just make sure to leave some water and food out for him. Sprinkle some catnip n the ground. That might entice him out of the tree.

Otherwise you could always phone the fire-department for help if he can't come out on his own. Hope he's safe soon !
