Sprains actually take longer to heal than breaking the bone! ... Give it time and follow your doctors directions. To help alleviate the swelling elevate the foot above heart level as much as possible and take the medication as directed.

You have some way to go. This can and will take a couple of weeks. If after two weeks or so you are still unable to put pressure on it and/or the pain is bad your doctor might recommend physical therapy.

ankles are one of the worst sites to injure. A lot of tendons, ligaments, and bones. Make sure you follow your Dr.'s orders and keep it elevated, iced and take anti-inflammatory's such as ibuprofen. It can take several weeks for an ankle injury to heel completely. Your Dr. might suggest physical therapy for you.
