Harassing phone calls from 1800mattress...?

Hi, recently my son was away at winter camp. While there, he got his phone temporarily stolen by one of the kids there. Apparently they made a few prank calls using the phone and one of them was to 1800mattress. Since then, one representative from 1800mattress keeps calling my son with very, very harassing phone calls. He even left 3 offensive messages, one involving my wife "my son's mom." I've contacted my phone service provider and according to them, my only two options are: To change my number, or to record all of the calls and file a court order. I do not want to do any of this and so far 1800 mattress did not respond to the email i sent them. Is there anything else I can do?

Update:

1. Changing the number would probably be the most annoying.

2. I called the guy, he said some stuff at me and in the end told my son to get a girlfriend..

3. A court order is way too much trouble for someone as low class as he is.

nothing more you really can do. Changing the number sounds like the hassle free way to go. A court order isn't really going to do much. I'd like though if you recorded the calls and posted them online for everyone the hear how lame 1800matress is

Why don't you want to change the number? If that will put an end to the harassing phone calls, then why not do it?

At the same time, I would record each and every one of those phone calls and see if you can't lay harassment charges against them.

Get on the phone and call 1-800-mattress. Explain that the phone was used for a prank call, apologize, and then tell them about the calls/messages your son has been getting. I'd try to talk to a supervisor, so they can track down whoever it is that is calling your son's phone.

Hopefully your son has LONG AGO drop those loser...er, i meant "friends". Sit back, you've already put them on notice through your email. As long as it's not costing you any cash, chalk it up to 1) a temporary (as it were) non-life-threatening annoyance 2) a multi-layered lesson that your son (hopefully) learned EARLY!

First call 1800mattress and tell them to stop calling. Also send them a certified letter in the mail to remove the phone number from their list and to stop calling. After you receive the receipt back from the certified letter and they call again, file against them in small claims court for harrassment.

look on 1800 mattress's web site, find out who the executives are in charge, and call them.

You can contact a lawyer and possibly get a restraining order issued.
