Does your cat use the "cat furniture" you bought?

Or do they just use your furniture? What kind of "cat furniture" do you have?

No she sure doesn't! I bought her a bed a scratching post. She would rather sleep on the computer chair and sharpen her claws on the back of the living room furniture.

Cats have already been living a long time with humans. Even so they have remained predators like their relatives, the big cats, which include the lion, the tiger, and the leopard. The animals of prey for cats are much smaller. Most of all cats love mice. The hunting instinct is inborn. Even when you regularly feed your cats, it will not pass up an opportunity to chase after any mouse that crosses its path. Cats have great persistence in hunting. They can sit quietly for hours in front of a mouse hole. If a mouse finally does stick its little head out, the cat will first wait patiently. The mouse shouldn't be immediately afraid and disappear again into its hole. If the mouse dares to come out a little further, the cat will spring as quickly as lightning and catch the mouse. What should you do if your cat drags you a mouse? While it might seem disgusting to you, for the cat it is a great part of life. So don't scold your cat. Take the mouse away as soon as the cat has left it and put it outside. If the mouse is dead, you can bury it. Hope this helps (it is instintive) heheheheehehe aussie

Yes all of my cats use the cat furniture.

    I have:

a tunnel they can crawl through

4 cat beds of different sizes

    a climbing tree

2 3 story 'hotel' they sleep in

100+ toy balls, mice, strings etc

My cats are spoiled they have their own room

Most of the time they are in the same room I am in. But when they want to be on their own I can normally find them in their room curled up somewhere

They are a LITTLE bit spoiled

I didn't really 'buy' any furniture for my cat, but I paid for several items that arrived at my door C.O.D. I suspect my cat has been using my computer at night to order various items off ebay. He now has a three story cat condo, including a sleeping tube and yarn ball on a string, in addition to a plush carpeted scratching post. When questioned about how these items were ordered, my cat just shrugs and asked me to open another can of tuna .. which also arrived C.O.D by the case.

I bought my cat a bed but he doesn't use it. You can buy things at a pet store for cats to climb into that make a "crinkling" noise. I just use a paper bag from the grocery store. A lot of those things for cats are a waste of money. I was flipping though a cat magazine and I saw a cat stroller!?!?! Why would anyone want to push their cat around in a stroller?

I didn't buy it but my moms boyfriend built my 2 kittens a cat tower that is over 6 ft tall. They absolutely love it. They scratch, play and nap on it all the time. \

They also do use our furniture when they sleep with us at night or cuddle up with us on the couch when we are watching tv

Yes, they use both, their large cat tree is due to be replaced soon as they have scratched it completely bare *LOL* we have gone through a few of them. They have carpeted "logs" but are too big to fit into the hidey holes too much so they roll them around or sit on top of them. They have 2 large wing back chairs on the sun porch that they have scratched up but they also sleep in them on sunny days. They have a large baker's rack out there that they sit on and jump on. They also have their own kitchen table to eat off of, it has a formica top so it is easy to clean and dissinfect. Sure they use my furniture too, one of their favorite places to sleep is in on my son's nice warm water bed.

I find that cats like to be anywhere you are. So she is usually on "my" furniture but it's really hers.

    I didn't buy any - I knew better.

But what I did do is when we replaced our front window, we replaced it with an extended box (sort of like a bay window) so that they have a ledge to sit on. They use that a lot.

I also got a crappy old bench to put in front of our dining room windows. I painted it to match the room and upholstered it with lots of foam and a plasticy material and they use that frequently too.

Other than that, it's all human couch and bed for them.
