It is very hard to always think positive. I don't know anyone who has achieved that. But it is an admirable goal. If you think positively 50% of the time, that is a whole lot better than thinking positively 10% of the time. The more positive energy you put into the world, the better place the world becomes. And the bonus is that positive energy attracts positive energy. The more you put out there, the more that will come your way.

Positive -That just sounds good to anybody. Being positive in our actions not only generates a circle of positive waves around us but also makes the listener feel good and gain positiveness if at all the person does not possess the charming quality. So definitely I'm positive so much so that i believe positively that my answer would be chosen as the best one.

Can you give a specific example of the kind of situation you're referring to? That would help. As with many psychological questions, a generic, generalized question is not as easy to answer as a more specific one.

To some extent, you can control your thoughts, and whether you "think positive" or not. However, as a whole approach to life, "think positive" is inadequate, because it doesn't address the deeper issue of motivation. WHY should someone want to think positive?

When taking someone into consideration, you certainly don't want to blind yourself to their flaws, for instance getting involved with someone who was abusing substances because your friends told you to "think positive" and so you ignored all the warning signs. You want to be able to realistically assess someone. But at the same time, it is good to be compassionate, and generous in your view.

You can notice whether you're getting "hung up" or "stuck" on something negative, by the way it begins to take over your energy and dominate your conscious mind. You can experience it as something like a clog or a knot in a system. Lots of things are happening in life but you're overly focused on one negative thing. Then you know that that is becoming a problem for you, and then what you want to do is figure out how to let go of that negative train of thoughts. It's not so much telling yourself to "think positive" that helps in that kind of situation, but rather gently telling yourself to let go.

yeah i always think positive, i like seeing the bright side of anything. I know people who can't really think positive about anything at all, not because i c the negative view but it's because they really are not thinking positive, and they admit it... they see the empty part of the glass not the full one.

Always think positive, it will affect ur way of living in a better way... be thankful for what u have and what u've lost, who knows maybe what u've lost wasn't at all good for u, maybe that's what u thought but it's not :)

I like to make the most of situations. Life is too short to be unhappy all of the time and negative. Yeah sure I sometimes find it really hard and sometimes can't be positive. But all in all if I can't think happy I just try to laugh the **** stuff off and forget about it.

u can either see the glass of water as half filled or half empty...it all depends on your choice of veiwing.

I'm able to view things in the positive light and that helps me a lot when it comes to stress-busting and it works as a great anti-depressant. All you have to do is make a choice: you either look at the bright side, or choose to live in the greiving dark.

Practically we don't and hence the advise. While it's a good advise but one should also remain alert to the realities of the situation and possibilities of unexpected behavior from others. There is a marked difference between being alert/cautious and negative.

let me explain to you...let us consider the most common positive emotion ....love

love is very positive emotion..but with this we have some attitudes also which goes with that..like loyalty, obedience, possessiveness, jealousy.etc Though jealousy is negative,

So it takes a lot of mental conditioning and training to smile even in odds, I saw Mother Teresa, her love for the children on the street, but she too had some negative factors to coup

people can think positive if they wanted to. there are some cases wherein people tend to think or feel negative, that's why they tend to see negative things. it's just really all in your head. there would be times too wherein they just can't help to think about the negative stuff. and it's all about balance anyway, when there's negative, there's positive...
