How do you make yourself feel better after embarrassing yourself?

I made some really embarrassing comments in a drunk dial. I'm mortified. How do i get over it?

Sober dial and apologize, maybe. You could just apologize really quickly before they realize who it is and hang up or leave the apology on the voice mail. I'd just explain the whole situation and tell them that you won't do it again. At least you're taking more positive action to resolve it, right? That shows you take responsibility and want to do damage control. :)

Also, we all make dumb mistakes, prob. more often when we are under various influences. I think you're prob. not the only one who has been in this situation. Don't take yourself too seriously. The person prob. has some clue that you weren't your normal self during that call. Next time you could just take a moment to remember why you don't really want to drunk dial.

    Best Wishes!

Suck it up and go on. Because actually, people intend to say some things that they really do mean when they are drunk and it might not necessarily be what they wanted to admit. They say the stuff anyways. But you can't keep beating yourself up over it. Everyone says something stupid and ridiculous every once in a while and it's ok because we are human. Just apoligize if you hurt anyone and it will get better. Life will go on with you or without you so I say jump back in with the flow. If you need to talk with a pastor or someone (if your religous) then I say go to them and explain things. Or if you don't want any adults or other's knowing about it talk to a friend. And there are plenty of strangers on here that will listen and help people. Email me if ya want. I don't know you what could possibly happen? So get it off your chest one way or another and realize and learn from your mistakes because that is what makes us better people and helps us to grow stronger.

Just remember that other people do much more embarrassing things than you that bring them bigger consequences that hurt their reputation, like celebrities' leaked out sex tapes.

Most people do the stupidest things when they're drunk. So, just know that you weren't being yourself when you were drunk.

I try to laugh it off and learn from the situation.

As long as you can laugh at yourself, you'll get over it.

    That's what I do.

laughing it does not help to get mad and try not to do it again.
