what is the little white disgusting looking thing that seems to be in every raw egg when the shell is cracked?
it is usually very close to the yolk. I love eggs but I remove this whenever I cook eggs. I don't remember seeing these years ago when I cooked eggs but I don't know if I ever looked.

It is called the chalazae - the two whitish cords on opposite sides of the yolk which hold the yolk in the center of the albumen and serve as rotating axis to keep the germ cell on the top side of the yolk. Hope this helps!!

Great question, it's actually a small membrane that acts as a stabilizer or spring to keep the yolk centered inside the egg. It's called the Chalaza and it's harmless. When you cook the egg, it becomes indistinguishable from the rest of the egg, so you don't really need to remove it. The fresher the egg, the more noticeable it is before you cook it. If you want to learn more about your eggs, do a google search for "egg anatomy". There are some cool diagrams on the web and lots of information.

The Inside the Shell Egg Beater from Ronco. You can get it for about $17.00 on Amazon. You do have to make a tiny hole in the egg to get the beater in (it's a pin that spins very, very fast) so you may get a little leakage before the egg inside completely cooks, but it shouldn't be too bad. Sadly the product has fairly awful customer reviews but this is really the only way to do what you want that seems to make any sense. If you were Alton Brown, you could probably do the same with a power drill and a very thin drill bit!

That's actually the baby chicken! The yolk is the food for the embryo (baby chicken). They've always been there. You can remove it if it bothers you. I do.

I don't know, but it grosses me out, too. A lot of foods have been grossing me out lately so I've been eating pb&j and grilled cheese sandwiches.
