This is the question that everyone wants answered. This is also the question that usually gets the worst responses from people who do not know what they are talking about.
I'm a dietitian and my best advice for you would be to make an appointment with a registered dietitian in your area. They will be able to give you a personalized meal plan that works best with your lifestyle and with how much weight you want to lose. In addition, you will be able to learn about balance, moderation and portion control from a real nutrition expert!
Try to avoid any quick fix dieting plan, "diet pills", or really low calorie diets. The more gradual you lose weight, the more likely you are to keep it off.
Think of developing healthier eating habits as more as a long-term lifestyle change rather than a "diet". And don't forget to include physical activity into your schedule on most days of the week. Good luck!

Find out what your BMR(basal metabolic rate). That is the amount of calories your body burns to sustain your life if you were to sleep a 24 hr day. go to www.my-calorie-counter.com and use their free BMR calculator. Then subract 500 calories from that and that is the amount of calories that you would need to eat in a day to lose weight. MY BMR is 2300 for my age, height, weight, and activity level. So, I can eat 1800 calories a day and still lose one pound a week. If you are male you don't need to eat less than 1800 a day and female no less than 1200. I eat 1600 a day and walk and I lose about 2.33 pounds a week. I also eat really healthy. Whole grains, lots of veggies, fruits, low fat dairy, lean meats and fish, green tea, and eight cups of water a day with a squeeze of lemon. I walk an hour everyday I am able. Its the only and healthiest diet Ive tried. I don't take diet pills, but metoblife worked ok and hoodia. But I get tolerant to them after the first week and then they don't work. So, i make sure I eat enough fiber and protien a day to keep me full feeling.

Depending on how overweight you are, your doctor may be able to prescribe something for you. But I personally would not fool with all this over-the-counter stuff because you never know what kind of additives they have and could seriously jeopardize your health. I would advise that after talking to your physician, start fighting the battle of the bulge yourself by walking and drinking plenty of water. Walking helps to relieve stress which also makes us gain weight. I found that drinking tap water can help you drink more because it's not so much of a shock to the body. And as one other answerer said, drink green tea, it speeds up the metabolism so that you feel more energized. Hope this helps and good luck.

i advise you to drink green tea 1-3 glasses per day
green tea speeds up your metabolism
drink lots and lots of water 8 glasses each day.
do not snack
do not eat 6 meals a day, try to only eat 3
if you are really hungry and you've had all your daily meals snack on fruits ( oranges, apples, bananas )
exercise more try and run for at least 30 minutes a day
get more active
get more sleep it prepares your body
stretch, yes it works and it doesn't just help you lose weight it helps with you're growing to make you a little taller
count your calories try to stay under the amount of 1300 calories per day
change you're lifestyle it makes a difference
do not eat candy or chips eat more greens or protein bars
avoid fast food and cut out fried food when you cook your meal oven cook your food do not fry it
chew gum because when you chew gum you do not pick at food for example if theres some chips in you're cupboard you go to them a think good damn they look good then you would say no i cant pick at them because i dont wanna throw my gum away
do not eat after 6pm because before 6pm you can burn all you're food off and if you eat after six it will lay on you're stomach as you eat.
do not eat before you go to sleep
drink a glass of water before you go to sleep
eat spicy food, if you can because it speeds up you're metabolism
do not weigh you're self everyday because it torments you,weight you're self once a week ( every Monday )

The best way is diet and excersize. Proportion control in eating is the key. I wouldn't recommend using any of those silly pills. You will waste your money and could have nasty side effects.

the really really best and fastest way pill is the one that doctors prescribed for obesity. - - amphetamines. its kinda addictive because you'll feel good right away then loose weight eventually.
