Can a physician with a US license live and practice in Germany? Through which channels? How about an RN?
Does anyone out there know of emplyment opportunities in Germany with a US education and license for a physician and/or RN?
What types of settings? How fierce is the competition?
I am seeking something long-term, becaue I love Germany.

While I cannot answer that question for your directly, I do know of a company that provides locum tenens services for physicians based out of Salt Lake City, UT. They specialize in sending physicians (not sure about nurses) to other countries. They handle all the paperwork, i.e. passport info, licensure info, credential, hospital privileges, Visas, coordinate travel and housing, etc. They are a very reputable company and the owner, Alan Lakomski has been in the Physicians locum ! industry for over 20 years. I think his company would be an excellent starting point for you and if he is unable to get you to Germany, I am certain he can refer you to a company that can.
