When a question asks for an easy recipe, why do some of the answers have 15 ingredients and 1000 words long?
Please read the questions. If the question is from a single man wanting an easy meal, don't reply with a dish containing a dozen exotic ingredients obviously not in his pantry/fridge, and 20-step instructions taking over an hour.
Why do some answerers seem like they do not read the question? If they just wanted easy points, they would not spend half an hour creating such an elaborate reply.

Perhaps they just think everyone has a Martha Stewart pantry like they do.

I guess some people are really passionate about cooking and don't see most recipes as difficult. They may figure that if someone cares enough to ask for a recipe, they want a good one. Some things are just complicated too. For example, if someone asked for an easy recipe for lasagna, my easiest one would probably have 10 ingredients and 1000 words long. To make it any easier, I'd have to say: Go to the grocery store. Purchase a frozen Stouffer's lasagna. Follow directions on box. Enjoy.

I think people often go to their favorite recipe site, then copy and paste whatever looks good.
Often it's hard to tell exactly what type of recipe someone is looking for, but if they say quick and easy I'm guessing a half hour and common ingredients.

the only comment i could offer is that either people don't know what a 'simple' recipe is or that the food product in question is just complex. but obviously there are plenty of users trying to rack up points.

You'd think that people were writing answers for money, not points. It's kind of silly...really.
