    Obama!

He is confident, full of life, inspirational, and he has many great ideas for America!

Obama will bring the change this country so desperately needs. Some people scoff at the word "change." However, that is because many people do not understand what he means by change.

The concept of change is actually something that he has held since the days he was a community organizer. I was surprised when I read that in Dreams From my Father, which was published in 1995. He wanted to make this change at the community level, but now he wants to take his change on a much higher level to spread all through America. He wants all Americans to have a shot at the American Dream. That can only be accomplished if we revitalize our communities. We must first work on our education system and employment. Healthcare must be provided for all.

If you read The Audacity of Hope you will see what Obama means by change. It really is not change as in a novel idea of how politics is done. He means going old school politics like in the days of FDR. His idea of change means moving away from the types of policies that Bush has instilled for almost 8 years now. For example, he will allow Bush's tax cuts to expire in 2010. McCain wants to keep the tax cuts. McCain is not about the type of change we need in America at this moment in our country's history. Obama wants the government to focus on the people. Better education system, fair trade, no tax cuts to companies that outsource, more money for research and technology, better health care and universal health care, etc. He wants to work from the bottom up. I think his background, personal and professional, have allowed him to see life through the eyes of the average to below average citizen. Start at the very bottom. Help out inner city schools with their poor education system. Get them better jobs and health care. Work upwards to encompass all of America. That is what we need. We need a President who is about the people. Isn't that what this great country was founded upon? For the people! That is why I want Obama in office. He cares about making America better and more competitive with the world.

My choices this election fall into 4 tiers.

As a Libertarian, my first support would be for Bob Barr of the Libertarian party.

    http://www.lp.org/

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Barr

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarian

Granted, he has a shady past as a Republican,

but as the LP candidate is quite unlikely to be president,

I can afford to be ideological.

However, should there be those who are truer in their Libertarianism, I'd support them.

I suppose a Steve Kubby would have been preferable:

but I had other pressing commitments of my time at the time of the Libertarian Party primary.

Next, I support minority party candidates,

    and some info here too

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_preside...

    like Ralph Nader

    or Cynthia McKinney.

Of those who ran in the major parties, my choice would be Ron Paul.

Finally of the 3, now 2, contenders

(Obama, McCain, and when she was running, Hillary),

    I support Obama,

as I oppose this costly war,

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_War

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_cost_of_the...

he opposed it from the beginning,

and he can be a challenge to the insiders

---of whom McCain, the Bush's and Clintons, are clearly members of.

For stability and future world peace.

For real answers to the upcoming energy and fuel crisis.

For the maintenance of international alliances and trade deals.

For the eventual defeat of Al Quaeda and the Taliban.

    For capitalism over marxism.

    For competence in foreign policy.

For the silencing of racism in this political campaign.

For a resounding defeat of the over-controlling liberal media, by the internet.

There can only be one answer, John McCain.

Has no one ever told people on this forum that it is no one's business who someone else votes for? If they choose to tell you, that's fine. But secret ballot is one of the hallmarks of our election process, ensuring that you will not be ridiculed, harassed, threatened, or attacked for your choice.

But, for purposes of your question, I seriously doubt that Clinton will be on the ticket unless she can pull off a miracle at the convention.

Of course, Obama may do her work for her.

Obama unless Clinton is picked as his vice and then I would vote for McCain.

    McCain

Obama, because he is the most honest and forward-thinking of the bunch.

"America 1st": I sincerely hope you are not old enough to vote. Not because you support a different candidate, but because that right should not be wasted on someone who needs capital letters to reinforce their senseless, boring old cliches, or on someone who thinks 3 1/2 years equals 143 days.
