Why does my cat sniff toes?

My cat always comes up to us when we are sitting and sniffs our feet. I am just kind of wondering why she does this. She doesn't like to cuddle or anything like that she will just be walking by and stop to smell our feet, then walks on. Anyone have any insight to this?

They like (stinky) feet smell - I have had cats who would stick their heads into my tennis shoes and act like the shoes were filled with catnip.

Maybe the toes have an intriguing smell to her? Whenever my cat sniffs my husband's socks he pulls away with a look of disgust. It is very amusing.

Feet are a very interesting body part and usually smell even if you can't smell it. Cats, however, have a very attuned sense of smell and she will use that smell to see if she can tell where you've been.

LOL, I really don't know why, but our Schnauzer smells our calves of our legs whenever we walk into the house.

It is so annoying, because his whiskers tickle the crap out of our legs!

I guess they like the smell, or just smelling you for the heck of it.

    :-)

Haha! My dog likes to lick my legs for some reason! xD

I don't think there is a special reason to why she does that
