Your thoughts-clothes on cats?
OK, so, i know this is silly, but, we have a kitten, when going thru the pet departments, we have been seeing clothes for small animals, at this time of year mostly halloween costumes..I could not believe it, but my husband wanted to buy her a sun dress ($15.00), i just looked at him and moved on...
I am asking this question early in the morning before all the kids get home from school, get on here and go OMG YES i love to dress and pet and love my cat, blah blah
So as an adult, what do you think about clothes for cats?
I just can't get into it, just doesn't seem right, but can see maybe a warm sweater for a small dog that has to go out in cold climates to do its thing, but that's it...
so far i love the 1st 3 answers, that is how i feel about it too.

Most cats hate being restricted by anything on them and like to be free. Tell him he is wasting his money the cat will most likely hate wearing any clothes and struggle to get them off or scratch whoever attempts to puts these clothes on it.

LOL I think it is really unfair to put silly dresses on cats, they really don't like it, cats are very independent creatures that don't like to be restricted in this way. They also would possibly overheat if they have additional clothes. I have a whippet who has very little hair and i do put a coat on him while walking in the cold weather and occasionally a jumper in the house when it is really cold, however that is necessary for whippets in England's cold climate nothing to do with fashion. I have 3 cats and would never dream of putting a dress on them. (i wouldn't dare try their claws are quite sharp LOL)

does any one know why they put fur on animals? It is so dumb people don't go around putting clothes on them. Yes teeny, tiny dogs need a little coat or sweater when they go out to pee, but other then that no way, and if you want to humiliate a cat quick, well go ahead and put clothes on him

I think that it is torture for the cat ... when ever I see a dog in a sweater or something, I just want to cry because of the defeated look on it's face.

I think it is absolutely disgraceful. It is humiliating and degrading a beautiful noble creature for the sake of a cheap laugh. I hate to see it, on any animal, not just on cats. Ugh!

They already wear clothes....it is called fur. I put jumpers/sweaters on my two little dogs only when it is cold, never for fashion.
