Kittens-seeks constant attention even if its negative attention?

OK, Lizzie is 4 months old,,I am 53 and do not work,so i am here with her all the time, she gets ALOT of attention, playing with, holding her, kisses and games..I am very entertaing..as long as I do what Lizzie wants to do, things are pretty good. I cant play with her ALL the time, things need to be done, HERES the Problem...At night, after my husband is home, she changes, she loves him and he gives her attention too, but when we are trying to watch TV, she goes nuts, racing thru the house, getting onto everything, she beats the blinds, she gets on everything, claws furniture (does not do it during the day), she literally does everything she is not supposed to do, over and over and over and over, we correct her and she does it again..We don't know what to do,,squirt bottle, forget it, she likes to be wet, shaker can , she thinks it a toy..Now i figure, she knows what she is doing, seeking attention, even if it is negative, don't know what to do.HELP

Update:

She is not nocturnal, she sleeps all night, she does this about 8pm until bedtime, once we put her in bed, she stays all night.

Update 2:

We have a laser mouse, tried it, seems the more we use it, the more hyper she gets, has a scratching post she loves, dont want a high cat tree, no place for one and dont want her getting used to getting on things that are high, have enuf problems with that now...

Update 3:

I like the idea of the fly swatter and the can of air..

Update 4:

ok, tried the fly swatter, she just looked at me, also used a can of air that we use for the keyboards, she thought it was a toy,,,geez..Noise does not scare her, nothing, nada, zip.she is fearless, and yes she hears just fine..

I have a cat very similar, only he is 2 years old. They kept telling me he would grow out of it. He really didn't. He still misbehaves, but he doesn't run around like he use to. My cat eats absolutely everything including curtains, throw pillows, newspapers, cardboard, his own toys, etc..and gets on counters.

One suggestion for the clawing is to get a cat pole if you don't have one. Every time you see your kitten clawing something she shouldn't, put her on the cat pole. My cat pole has the rope on it on one spot where he can claw.

I have tried the bitter apple to keep my cat from eating objects and then getting sick from them. He Likes it!

I now have a flyswatter and when he is bad, I just wave it around him or hit the floor with it. He hates the sound of the air going through the flyswatter. You may try that. Your kitty will calm down as she gets older. Running is an excitement for them. My cat loves to Play chase with humans. He will run from one room to another and my boyfriend plays hide and seek. He loves it and he knows that he plays differently than I do. My boyfriend isn't here everyday, but he knows that is what he will play that way with him. Maybe it is the same with your husband. He plays differently and wants him to be running with her.

I have one of those toys on a string that my cat loves to flip and try to catch as I flip it over his head. It wears him out and he settles down for a while.

Have you tried a lazer light. She will love it and you don't have to get up to play with her. I also have to say NO in a loud voice to make my cat stop doing what he isn't. He knows my tone of my voice and he will stop.

My cat likes to really Bite, not play bite, but really bite in a mean way. I really have to stop him from this too. He runs from me when he bites because he knows he is in trouble. I will smack his head with 2 fingers and say no bite and put him on the cat pole. He doesn't do it as much now. Play biting is a different thing and he does that too. That he doesn't get into trouble for. When he bites in a mean way, his ears go back and his eye dialate.

I have also tried the squirt bottle, it doesn't work. I find the flyswatter works the best. Also even a can of air that you can spray works. When you see her doing something wrong, just spray it. They hate the sound of it.

Best wishes to you and your kitty.

Source(s): Yes, my cat use to be fearless too when he was a kitten, now, he is afraid of noises, so maybe your kitty will be too. Mine is suddenly afraid of the ceiling fans that have been here since before I got him, and they are not even on. If someone knocks on the door, he runs behind the washer, or on his cat pole. and "hides". When you use the flyswatter and the can of air, you have to make a "bad" noise, like you do when she is bad. Mine is kind of like "ATT" and when she associates the two, she will get the hang of it.

Well if she gets exhausted enough (like you make her run all over the place) then she should be tired enough at night to not be wild. Try using a laser (one of those little ones you can buy them at Walgreens) and make her chase it all over the house. She needs more exercise, not just loving attention. She is* a cat so she will want to play rough sometimes. Maybe get her some cat toys and things she is allowed* to scratch on to amuse herself with. Maybe get her one of those cat trees covered in carpet (You can buy them at Petco, Petsmart and so on). As for obedience, try using a can of air and spraying it near her, but not on her). That's my best advice.

I don't know what to do about it but I know WHY she does it, cats are nocturnal and get all hyper at night and love to run around, mine do the same thing.
