Has anyone used that item called Peticure on a cat's claws?

I was wondering how you had used this product called Peticure on a cat's claws, and were able to do so without the cat going nuts, and clawing you cause of the noise, or even the look of some machine touching the cat. Thanks

OK, we fell for the ads and bought one,,,kitten is scared to death of the noise, she runs and hides, that was money down the drain,,,but what she will do is sit in my lap and let me file her nails,,,i got those kinda foam files from Walmart in the Beauty section...its foam so she can play with it too, and is not afraid of it..

Some cats have a calm enough disposition to handle a machine like that, other do not and some people cannot really handle their cats with that kind of thing. I would really think hard before buying on. Try a scratching post. Or you could by gel caps for the claws, they are soft and non-toxic and you can glue them onto the cats claws so they are not cutting anything. It worked well for my cat since I did not want him de-clawed but my mother was tired of him scratching the furniture. The only problem with those is as the cats nails grow they will fall of so you'll always have to by more nail caps. The good this is that they come with many in a box. If all else fails just take the cat to the pet store, they'll usually trim the nails for you.

I don't know why people are saying this is cruel. Trimming a cat's nails are no different than trimming a person's. Do the people who wrote that it is cruel not trim their own nails and just use a scratching post? Declawing is cruel, not just trimming.

Anyway, to answer your question. I would recommend simple nail trimmers over the pedicure. They are easier to use, especially on a squirmy cat, and not as noisy. Some cats don't tolerate the noise well. Good Luck.

I have the standard cordless Dremel from the hardware store. Better quality product, will last longer, and is easier to use. ALL of the products make noise and cats are less tolerant of it than dogs. I am able to do all of my cats, but a lot of people are not. So, unless you REALLY think you can do it, save your money.

I agree with Kiagayad, it's un-natural to use anything on a cats claws, they have them for a purpose and the best solution if it's an indoor cat is to get a catnip scratching post,it's good exercise and they shed the outer layers of their claws themselves.

Why do people want to frighten their cats with messing with Nature, they know cats have claws, so why get one if you want to change that !

Well,, to be honest i think its crule just get your cat a scrach post.. it always works and its natural.

if you use the peticure thing on your cat, she won't trust you.

    its hard enough de-fleaing them.

thoses peticures and things like that shouldn't of been invented. Its crule!
