What is the best kind of salt for homemade tortilla chips?

My husband and I have decided to make our own chips now and then but we can't get the salt right (like resturants). We are using just regular table salt but should we be using a different kind of salt or what could be the problem. Thank you!

    Sea salt, it's healthier.

Popcorn salt. Morton's sells it. It comes in a small light blue shaker type container. Look for it by the spices or the popcorn/snack aisle. I think they even have a butter flavor. Makes sure you salt your chips right after they come out of the fryer so that the salt sticks to it.

Use a fine grain of salt. You can usually find this at specialty stores or some grocers carry this. If you can't find it, buy a salt grinder. I bought one from Sams Club (I think it's Spice Islands brand) and you can change the setting to get very fine to coarse. Just remember to sprinkle your tortilla chips asap after pulling them from the oven or fryer. =]

Should be a fine salt..like the one you are using already, but make sure you hit the chips with it the second you take it out of the oil. It'll stick to the chips better if they are still wet.

superfine salt.... pulse kosher salt in a food processor until fine. Regular table salt is too harsh-tasting, IMHO

Look for popcorn salt which is unflavored but very fine grain.

Really small grained salt, not very chunky.

I use garlic salt. We like it!
