What to Expect first day of college?
I was reading similar questions and they all explain how the professors will explain classes and whatever and i already get that, ive been going to school my whole life im sure that is expected lol. But my question really is i guess campus life. Im a queit person that doesnt really do alot of stuff to meet others and im going from high school with lots of friends and( to me )a normal schedule of talking to them in each class yatta yatta, to not knowing a single person at all. Are college kids a bit more mature and will it be really uncomfortable being new now? Things like that, and other things in college i should expect....

There really isn't a "first day" like there is in high school. There's the first day the freshmen move into the dorm -- that's always exciting, because you're setting up your room, maybe meeting your roommate for the first time, etc. You'll probably have a freshman orientation counselor or a hall advisor that will help you by showing you around and arranging a few activities. You may be there up to a week before classes actually start. By the time classes start, you'll probably be annoyed that you have to go to class and skip all this fun stuff! Just remember that at college, almost EVERYONE is "new" and doesn't know too many people -- even if there are people from their high school there, they will probably not end up hanging with them very much. The dorms usually organize lots of social activities that help people get to know each other. You'll probably hang out with your roommate a lot at first (unless you get a really bad one :-( ) and you'll meet people on your hall. You'll join in with groups from the dorm at first to go to dinner, go to the student store, go to a football game, etc. But some people will know other people, you'll meet other people not in your dorm, and when classes start, you'll meet people in your classes.
The biggest surprise that most freshmen have is the amount of free time that they have. You go from being in class from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, and having to account for every moment of your time, to having only two or three classes a day and no one who cares what you are doing. You might be finished with all your classes by 10 AM, and have the entire day left to do whatever you want. You have to figure out how to scheduled studying, meals, going to athletic events, doing laundry, joining clubs, socializing, etc., and getting everything done.

You shouldn't feel uncomfortable being new because no one will really even notice that you are new. It's not like high school where it can be obvious that there is a new person. I commute to college, so even though I have been there for 3 years there are a lot of people I don't know or have never met. Even though I'm not new to the school I often don't know many people in my classes, and its definitely normal to say hi and talk to everyone.
I would say I find people are more mature in college than in high school, and in a good way. For example, on the first day of classes if you talk to the people sitting next to you, and tell them you're new and don't know many people, I think most people would be friendly and helpful, and would not make you feel awkward or anything. Most people enjoy meeting new people throughout college, so don't feel uncomfortable being new.

some professors incredibly anticipate you to have any e book they instructed you to get earlier type starts. Your usual paper, pen, and computer might do. you will probable pass over what the course would be like, so yeah... some instructions require a mag yet wait and locate out. it is incredibly you're average first day of faculty in HS. apart from being there whenever you have type and all that. a number of professor hate once you even stare at your cellular telephone. the two be a reliable secret texter or do no longer. extreme college might desire to have arranged you for texting without the instructor understanding. community college is a great start up. maximum truthfully a money saver... i actually prefer i began out obtainable. the persons you will run into in CC will probable be one in all those those that in simple terms pass there and pass away in the present day after ending type. i do no longer comprehend the way it is going to likely be like socially until eventually you comprehend a few those that are there. average it isn't any longer undesirable. the suitable suggestion you may desire to truly get is to study the books.... you paid for it. in case you do no longer study, do no longer difficulty going to type. additionally, get a teach in case you elect help. the 2nd you don't get help, it is going down hill from there. reliable luck!

Likely as not that there are others who feel the same as you do. There is a natural sense of worry that goes with any new situation. All you can do is be friendly, say Hi to the person(s) who sit next to you, and in general, dont worry too much about meeting people: that will happen.
