How far will we go in order to obtain immortal beauty?

In Animax-Asia's original animation LaMB, the process of lamination was first invented to preserve beauty until it evolved into a form of imprisonment. How far will you go to stay young and beautiful? Are you willing to commit a crime or do something illegal just so you can remain beautiful forever?

Humans are creatures who care too much about their personal appearance that most of them would really go through lengths, doing anything that they can possibly think of doing; use up all available resources to them; and ultimately sacrifice anything just for the sake of remaining as young and as beautiful as they can be.

The media doesn't help either as people constantly see advertisement after advertisement of beautiful women and handsome men advertising products that are made to enhance ones physical appearance. Movies, Television Shows, Newspapers and Magazines are filled with these messages that come across as: 'As long as you are beautiful, chances are, you can get away with anything and gain anything that you want'.

Magazines and Newspapers show images of women and men posing, showing their beauty, some of with have been tampered with by graphics editors such as Photoshop all in the name of selling whatever product they're trying to sell.

Because of these advertisements, those who fail to make it into the cut of what the world defines as beautiful, hot, sexy and whatnot, try their best (almost losing themselves in the process) just to fit in to society and be labeled as beautiful. They take diet pills, surgery, and other methods just to be liked, loved and welcomed.

I know that my answer on this matter will sound too cliché in the world that we are currently living now, but please bear with me.

I am one of those people who has a healthy sense of respect in myself and who is perfectly happy of who I am, how I am built and of what I look like thus, for me, I would not give up my humanity, my moral standing, and my beliefs just to look beautiful on the outside.

Sure, beauty has its perks and you can make people heads turn when you're beautiful but what really matters (and here is the cliché part I was talking about) is what we are on the inside. Beauty is not meant to last forever because sooner or later, we all age, get wrinkly and ultimately die and return to ashes. That's the inevitability of things.

When we do leave this earth, chances are, we will soon be forgotten by people. Sure, when you're beautiful they'll remember you but when you've left, there's a greater chance of them forgetting who you are than remembering. Someone once said 'It's not our looks or our standing that impresses people and makes us worth remembering, it's what we have done, what we are capable to do, and who we are as a person that they will remember.'

Even if by doing something illegal we can remain beautiful forever, I will still not succumb to it. After all, what good is it to remain beautiful forever when you are imprisoned by your own beauty? I think that the only people who can feel comfortable in doing something like that would be those who are too self-indulgent and obsessed about their 'shell'.

Immortal beauty... Now that's something everyone wants. Even I do. Undeniably, that's what everyone wants deep down inside of them. Even those people who think that brains are much more important than beauty. And the lengths that we all do to get that are pretty much so serious that it sometimes cost us our lives. Like for the girls for instance: here in the Philippines, whitening soaps are widely used to make a lot of women's skin whiter and more attractive. And of course, either they know the fact that this is cancerous or they just ignore it, they still buy these stuffs everyday and the market creates more because the products are in demand. For the guys: hair gel anyone? They complain of early baldness but what are they doing to prevent that? And let's not get started on the serious stuff such as plastic surgery and liposuction. And then in a few years, either you change a new nose and get a second liposuction again and ultimately destroy the real you.

So how far will we go to obtain immortal beauty? Far enough to make us realize that what we're doing is destroying us and the time to turn back is long gone. What's left would be regret, depression and ultimately, nothing.

People today are just so pathetic, spending millions of money just to obtain the immortal beauty. Some are so harsh, they take under painful surgeries, liposuction is a good example for this, imagine that a surgeon is slicing the adipose of your tummy, people who's taking this kind of operation is near to death i mean how can you obtain immortal beauty if you can't have immortal life? and what's even worst what if there will be a way but you have to commit a crime before you can do it people with desperate minds won't doubt do it.

If you just think harder you'll realize soon enough that the true beauty is in everyone's heart true beauty depends on how you see it. Humans is the greatest and also the most stupid creation compared to all the other living things, the greatest because we were able to think, to speak properly and to response, why the most stupid? because even we were given this special talents we don't use it properly, we were able to think but we chose the wrong way, we speak properly but we curse words. What is the meaning of the outer beauty if the ugliness is in you.

Why obtain it? if you already have it.

Actually, in truth I would not go that far to that extent to stay young are beautiful. Growing up and growing old is a part of life that we should embrace no matter if we find that thought revolting. I am not willing to comit a criime or do something illlegal just so I can remain beautiful and young forever. I have to admit that if I did choose to commit a crime to be young forever it would be a dream come true. I would never dread dying one day and I can live my life to the maximum. But it is really not worth it. As eventually one day, the novelty will wear off and you will then dread each day knowing that each day will be the same. You will start trying to commit suicide with various crazy antics but it will never work. You are immortal and will always be. You will then live your life in guilt on why oh why did you make that horrible choice. But it will have been too late. you will have to pay the price by living for eternities to come. This is why I am not willing to commit myself to doing something illegal or commiting a crome just to look young and beautiful forever.

Yeah I'm willing to commit a crime or do something illegal in pursuit of beauty. Everyone knows that in the end, beauty is only skin-deep and true beauty comes from within. However, we cannot deny the fact that we are judged from our outer beauty a lot, and a person who is physically attractive has way more advantages than a person who isn't good-looking. Attractive people tend to be more successful, as proven by research. Well actually we don't need people to make research on this to know, we know it by common sense.

That being said, I'm not willing to go to extremes such as murdering or torturing someone cruelly. The guilt that would result from committing these heinous crimes would eventually "kill" me, making me far less human, more like a killing machine or even the Devil.

Well the problem is, society has become so shallow that almost all consumerist advertisements are based around exterior beauty, rather than interior. The result of this is highly influential towards the public. The problem is that exterior beauty deteriorates with age. So given that society is under the influence of the idea that it is of great importance to obtain exterior beauty, people will go to extraordinary lengths to keep it. The more influential the media becomes over society, the greater the "need" for "beauty" is. There is no such thing as immortal exterior beauty, but sadly people don't realise this and will go to ANY length to obtain it.

Uh, committing a crime doesn't have to be anything super-duper evil right? I'd probably just hit some famous person and get laminated for their sake. If we're talking about real life though, it'll depend on how much effort it'll take me to do that said illegal thing. If it's going to be so stressful that i start to look old before I can immortalize whatever 'beauty' that's left, no thank you.

*One thing, do they remove the lamination once my sentence is up? Or won't my sentence ever end?

We don't have to go further. We are already beautiful with what we are now. People chanGe, people get older and eventually, people die; and we can't stop that from happening. Life's not all about the looks, it's all about the experience you gain as you go one. We have to get hurt once in a while and find out for ourselves that we can't always get what we want, and one of those is immortality. No matter how great life could have been for you, we can't have it forever, because the thrill of it ends when you don't want to stop at all.

Getting what you want using the unforgivable can only lead to the unbearable. So why commit a crime just for eternal beauty, when all you need is pure contentment in your heart?

This is my take, and to sum it all up: there is no need to go further just to obtain immortal beauty when all you need is right here.

I dont have to go far to obtain immortal, is there even such a word exist? Immortal beauty? This is the real world.

I can simply slip into my most comfortable pair of sky-towering Manolo Blahniks, a nice pair of jeans and a simple tee, along with a sweet sincere smile, thats simply beautiful and thats exactly when I can get heads turning over, because its the confidence one possess.

No matter how far you try to search for immortality be it under knives or however you want it to be like the preserved beauty products (OH NO), one can never achieve it without the confidence deep within you.

    Good day everyone. :)

For me, immortal beauty is not something precious, or something to boast about. However, I'll fight all the odds just to make sure I stay young. So committing a crime, or doing something illegal just so I remain young is something that I will fight for - because being young is a gift! You can do almost everything you want in your life! When you're young, you have more energy to accomplish tasks that old people can't do! And further more, as long as you're young, you are able to experience anything, whether it be magical, superficial, or great challenges in life!
