Every one knows Winston smoked cigars but what brand were they and what country did he get them from.

In 1895, Churchill travelled to Cuba to observe the Spanish fight the Cuban guerrillas; he had obtained a commission to write about the conflict from the Daily Graphic. To his delight, he came under fire for the first time on his twenty-first birthday. He had fond memories of Cuba as a "large, rich, beautiful island". While there, he soon acquired a taste for Havana cigars, which he would smoke for the rest of his life.

I don't know the brand of Havana, sorry, but hopefully the above will be of some help to you.

    He smoked Cubans.

Depending on who you ask, the brands vary but it's generally agreed he smoked at least some Romeo y Julietas (Cubans). One of their most popular sizes is still called the Churchill to this day and was named after him.

A now-defunct Cuban brand he allegedly smoked is also La Aroma de Cuba, which has been reincarnated as a non-Cuban cigar now sold here in the U.S.

I'm sure he likely smoked all kinds of brands. He was provided with complimentary cigars throughout his later life.

Source(s): Every cigar smoker worth his salt knows this.

England, as it was better for him to be seen with them as a sign of patrioticism.
