what foods can type 2 diabetics eat and what have they got to avoid?

Hi, please can someone tell me what type 2 diabetics CAN eat and what they CANNOT eat, thanksz kes.

    eat fish and chicken and your 5 a day fruit and veg sort of diet, avoid sugar i.e. cakes sweets fizzy drinks etc, basicly a healthy diet and loads of excersise

    If you have type 2 diabetes and you don't understand your diet restrictions then you should see you doctor about this and perhaps a dietician or nutritionist so that you understand what is going on in your body. If you are seeing a general practitioner make an appt with an endocrinologist.

    In general, type 2 diabetics are advised to eat a lot of vegetables and to limit their carbohydrate intake.

    Basically avoid starch and sugar. Avoid root vegetables. If it grows above ground east it if below ground avoid it. Avoid alcohol.

    Avoid carbohydrates and foods containing sugar (sodas, cakes, cookies, etc.) Eat lots of vegetables, and exercise.
