Depends on the religion and what is considered evil I suppose.

Lots of people say Satanism is evil. It isn't. It's a religion that makes sense and it's completely against the catholic church so people say that it' "evil"

Personally, I think it keeps us away as each religion has strict laws/sins which must be followed.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, Sanctifying Grace brings many other benefits in our life but one of the net result is indeed Divine Assistance in our decision making, in our fights against temptations, in our discernment, our understanding, our prayers, our mortifications, in holding evil spirits away from us, in our spiritual growth, the restoration and strengthening of our body and soul, in our perseverance, hope, faith, charity etc... All factors that put us in a better position to avoid entertaining evil in our life. Sometimes though, God allows evil to strike us down for the benefit of our spiritual growth and detachment from material goods. And more often than not, despite all the help we get, we still make the wrong choices... That's human nature for you.

Does it? Satanic belief is a religion in itself. Religion keeps us away from evil? No.

It's because of the terrorists. They use the islam as a reason to kill innocents. It always saddens me to watch them just degrading their culture. If you type in google Osama Bin Laden or Al-Qaeda then you will see what i mean. I personally find it pathetic and they are not be considered muslim!! It is strongly forbidden in the islam to kill someone, it would be even a sin to kill someone even though it is as an act of defense. But yet the people see all muslims as terrorists. They see a law abiding muslim walking down the street and they yell 'terrorist!!'. Because they are brainwashed to believe that every muslim is terrorist. In a lot of non-islamic countries you see muslims living strictly by the law and their rules, not even committing a single crime. But they aren't even mentioned among the people. Some countries even forbid burqas (long robes that cover muslim women's body's) because they think they're hiding something beneath it (weapons or bombs or that nonsense). Because in the countries where terrorists are present, they exploit our way of living . Now everyone is paranoid to believe they're hiding something. Not their fault. It's because terrorists defiled the name of islam with their propaganda like "killing all the non-muslims". Don't mistake them as muslims because they aren't. Put it like this, you have people who claim to be muslim and you have people who ARE muslim. If you take a good look in their culture you will find the real muslims, living their lives peacefully and strictly by the laws. I feel really sorry for them as in some regions they're considered minorities and the trash of the community. Apologies for the bad english, hope this answers your question.

The idea of religion is very nice, but some people take it over the op and take the scripts literally instead of looking at it subjectively they look at it objectively, we have members of congress who say we dont need to worry about the environment because "GOD" and the bible say we dont, If you watch any sort of political programs there are many politicians who are overly zealous about their beliefs, religion gives people hope, but it certainly isnt necessary to be good, it is a very old way of thinking, but then again people also use to think that the trees caused the wind when they were mad, people just fear the unknown, religion gives them hope. Depending on who you are, whether a car bomb or a preacher it's all based on how literal you take the lessons.

No religion can keep us away from evil.. Only Jesus can do that for us, and of course it will also requires your submission.

Jesus gives his children the authority to rebuke demons. It's not religion that keeps evil away. It's God!
