To much of anything is not good for you. However, it depends on what you consider a lot. Many people drink at least a cup a day and seem to be fine. To make it better for you you would want to try non caffeinated and avoid adding a lot of sweeteners. One negative effect it will have on you however is the staining of your teeth. Rigorous brushing will only do so much to combat this. Also, if you are using any form of tooth whitening the green tea (and any form of tea, coffee, or dark soft drink) can worsen the stains while you are trying to whiten. Green tea can be very beneficial to your health and you should not have any health problems.

I started drinking a lot of tea (all the colors) because it is supposed to be so good for a person. However, I have recently read that there are potential drawbacks to high tea consumption (can't remember what they were or if they were associated with any particual type of tea...hmmm...maybe it was memory problems). Anyway, I don't recall the drawbacks being particularly horrifying. However, it is probably best to stick to moderation in all things and not go too heavy on the tea.

(As a side note, when I read about the tea drawbacks, I decided to switch to water...and I got shingles after about a week. Now, it could be totally unrelated, but I'm rather young for shingles. I'm now back to drinking tea, just less of it.)

You're not an addict, and drinking a lot of green tea is very common in a lot of Eastern countries. Well, you might be a caffeine addict, but that is a generally safe addiction. The antioxidants in green tea would probably undo any negative effects you get from caffeine content. I don't see any reason why you should worry, really.

with all of the milk people drink that seems to be a paradoxical question in of itself.

I mean, milk is so full of contaminants and was never consumed as much before it became a multi billion dollar industry making people have digestive problems, contributing to symptoms that people cannot connect dairy with and the medical text books are sponsored by the dairy industry so doctors won't stop it...

So, green tea? Well, the people living to be over 100 years of age where green tea comes from drink it every day. Maybe we should find out how they are harvesting it and drinking it and why we are not living to be 100 when we drink it a lot.

They drink it fresh and its loaded with antioxidants. Antioxidants prevent cancers and are anti aging food molecules that protect our cells from UV rays of the sun, help get rid of toxins and repair our cells.

If we drink green tea that has been processed, all of the antioxidants are gone! So, green tea has been denatured to the point that it is useless as a health food.

Get organic fresh green tea. Get a French Coffee Press. Put the fresh green tea leaves in the coffee press in hot water and push the press down. It makes fresh green tea with the antioxidants in tact.

Drink. Drink it to your hearts content.

Traditional wisdom says that excess of everything is bad . How this could be an exception to it ? Moderation of every thing is advocated. Reduce your intake to proper limit and enjoy your Green Tea ! ( I hope it is a standing invitation from you to me to join you over a cup of Green Tea.)

  • Drinking too much water can be bad and so drinking too much green tea can also be bad. For green tea is an anti-oxidant and can remove good elements from your system, that by drinking too much can kill you. People have died from too much water.

If you drink too much yeah... It has caffeine in it. I think you'd have to drink nothing but green tea all day long for it to affect you though.

It's good and it's bad. The bad is the fluoride in it, it's loaded with it, but it's natural, so it isn't as bad as what they put in the water.

I think 2 or 3 cups per week is fine, but I wouldn't drink more than that.

I drink 1 or 2 per week, I was drinking it everyday until I found out that it had so much fluoride in it.
