Cat's tail broken? Will she regain control of it eventually?
I believe my cat's tail is broken. She can't move it at all, and apparently she doesn't feel when I touch her tail. She´s not in pain in any way. We don't know how that happened though, she's a spayed indoor cat. She ran out of the house when we accidentally left the window open.
The question is: Will she regain control of her tail? Or chances are it should be amputated?
She acts normal. She's eating well and even playing with my other cat. She just can't move her tail. (it's just hanging, lifeless, so to speak)
I know I have to take her to a vet, I just wanna know if anybody here has seen this happen before and if it's a good idea to have the surgery or if we should wait. Thanks.

IF it's broken, it will probably have to be amputated, but if it's just nerve damage, it's POSSIBLE that the nerves may heal .. eventually.
A trip to the vet SOONER, rather than waiting, is BETTER for your cat. You may not THINK she's in pain, but cats can, and DO, hide their pain for long periods of time.
So.......take her to the vet ASAP, and get HIS opinion on her problem. If she needs surgery, it's better to get it before an infection sets in.......
So sorry that your little girl got hurt.....Hope it heals well, and she feels better REAL SOON........
Good luck.

There are either 107 or 112 bones in a cat's tail, and many times cats break their tails. They can't do anything about it usually. If the break is severe they may amputate the tail. But usually they just leave it alone. or it could even be dislocated
If she goes off her food, starts having litter pan accidents or otherwise acts off, I would run him in to the vet for x-rays.

That's what vets are for - to diagnose problems and determine what needs to be done to resolve the problem.
Just take her in for an exam.

You need to take her to the vet. They can tell you your options. You don't want the tail to die and possibly cause her to die.
