Do officers pull over multiple cars at once? How do I know if they're stopping me or the car in front of me?

I have stopped multiple cars before.

If the lights come on behind you, pull over. If the officer pulls in behind you, or gestures for you to stay put as he passes you, stay there.

If he drives by without incident, it wasn't you.

lol, if a police car or even an ambulance is directly behind you with sirens you pull over. If the police car passes you then you pull back on and go on your way. I don't know why you would be paying more attention to looking for cop gestures or "matador" maneuvers than the road, you're still driving you know. If you're gonna be in a multi-car stop be the driver that's supposed to be getting pulled over in the first place, not some goof who's hanging around when the cop car's no where near you anymore. Isn't this common sense, you're not going to get in trouble for pulling over and then assuming your not the target when the cop goes past you.

I saw one patrol car pull over an entire group of cars, at least 4 or 5. I know because I was one of them. I always thought being in the middle of the pack was safe.

There's no mistaking who's being pulled over, the officer straddles 2 cars at a time, slowing the ones behind, and when the first ones start to pull over, he herds the following cars right behind. It was a work of art, and even tho I was getting a speeding ticket, I had to admire the expertise. He was like a matador, and his patrol car was the cape.

This was in California, haven't seen it in Oregon.

If an officer turns on his lights behind you, ALWAYS pull over to the side, even if they're blowing by you. If not, you could piss the cop off or look like you're trying to run away. They usually don't pull over more than one, and if they do, they'll call in another unit to come help. Like I said, pull over no matter what.

Yes, police officers pull over multiple vehicles at a time. Well...I've seen two pulled over at once. When the guy in front tried to pull away, the officer pulled his weapon and yelled at him to stop.

Just like any emergency vehicles, though, you should pull over to the right if you see the lights or hear the siren. You will be better able to tell who they are pulling over if you do. Better safe than sorry.

Move to the right hand lane. If they stay behind you with there lights and siren on, that's a clue.

If the police have their lights and/or sirens on you have to at least pull to the side when you start slowing down then they'll either follow behind you or they'll zoom passed you!! =)

it doesnt matter where you live officers pull over one car at time.

and they only pull over the car directly ahead of them thats how they are trained.

its also common knowledge to move over to the side if a cop is behind you with sirens on.

Just pull over anyway.... you'll find out, soon enough, if you are the one he/she wants!

If they use a taser on you then that's considered torture under the Geneva Conventions and if found guilty the officer could face the death penalty.
